Try to update the Firmware of your organizer. If you can connect it directly to your PC, you can start from there. Download the firmware from the manufacturer's website.
you organizer should have cam with a cradle to set it on. that will connect to your computer either serial2 or usb. did yours not come with one of these?
I always recommended to use two methods: use the dictionary included into Google Bar (the cheapest way) or buy Babylon -http://www.babylon.com/- the most reliable and effective way.
I just ran across my manual. My organizer died, but here goes. You have to set the home date and time as the city's date and time for your time zone. Press Shift-Home. Select 1 to choose the City. Cities are listed according to their country. Press U for United States. Press the up or down arrow to scroll. When you see your City or one in the same time zone, input that number. If DST in effect, press shift-number for the city. To set time, select 2,or Shift-Home-2. Set the time. Press enter. Good Luck.
I was able to solve this problem on my yo-520 by going into the menu, selecting Delete Data, then going to the second page and selecting erase secret data.
