How do you change the belt on the Kirby sentria

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. 1st, you need to see if the head of the Kirby comes off, and if does then dial the belt off from the Kirby spoon/hook counter clock wise and then remove the bell housing off of the vacuum. Then remove the bottom plate using the 2 levers and then lift out the brushroll, remove the old belt and then slide the new Genuine Kirby belt onto the vacuum and then re-install the brushroll with the screw heads facing towards the carpet. Then using the dial spoon/ hook then dial the belt on to the fan pulley dialing counter clockwise and the belt should be on the vacuum then id your bell housing is removable then re-install the bell housing and lock it down. The plug it in and test the vac to see if it is picking up. If you have questions please feel free to contact you local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or contact the Kirby cust serv.

So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

How To Replace a Belt on a Kirby Generation G3-Sentria Vacuum Cleaner

Greetings,

Below we explain how you can replace a vacuum cleaner belt on the Kirby Generation upright vacuum cleaner. All you will need to perform this repair is a new Kirby Generation Upright Belt, and some time. No tools are needed to perform this repair. This repair is the same for all Kirby Generation models including: G3, G4, G5, G6, Ultimate G, Kirby Diamond Edition, and the Kirby Sentria. The repair procedures have to be followed exactly in order for the vacuum to work properly. This should be done at least once a year even if the belt doesn't break, because these belts will stretch out over that year time period and will not work as well as a new belt would.

I hope that you find this video helpful. If you do, please be sure to rate this Tip as helpful by clicking the Thumbs Up Icon in the top right hand corner of the Tip.

Feel free to send me an email anytime if you have any questions on the repair of the Kirby, or any vacuum cleaner.

Changed the belt on my Kirby Sentria and now the belt lifter seems to work in reverse

You need to take the nozzle back off the machine and grab the belt on the correct side of the lifter.

KIRBY ISSUES! :(

sounds about right you should change that type of belt every six months to a year regardless if its broken or not. one other thing you should do is make sure the brush roll itself isn't bound up it should spin freely if not you can pull the plastic ends off the roller to clean any hair or thread out .

Putting a new belt on my Kirby Sentria
Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. The belt install on a Kirby is to raise the height adjustment to the highest level and then dial the belt off counter clockwise so it is loose and not on the fan pulley, release the top lever on the bell housing, then remove the bottom plate and unhook the brushroll on one side, slide the old belt off and then slide the new one on, replace the brushroll with the screws facing the carpet and re-hook the bottom plate on the Kirby. Then take the bell housing and hook that back on to the Kirby and lock it down. Then dial the belt on clockwise all the way and the belt should be on the fan pulley. The belt should be ready to go, plug in your Kirby and then do the step down on the vacuum height adjustment until the tone changes, then try to see id it picks up, if not go one more height adjustment and that should be the correct setting.

So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Kirby sentria

you have to make sure the green light is on.. in the corner .. and if it is that means its working properly. If you have no suction then it is usually the belt and or the bag. so make sure your bag is not full , make sure everything is attatched properly and the green light is on.... The Kirby is the best vac out there and little suction should never be a issue for us.. I am a proud owner of the sentria..Love it..
