What we did was to buy a secondhand camera of the same type at little cost, transfer the old films with our DVD recorder (if the recorder has a hard drive it makes editing a cinch), and then sell the camera back to someone who wanted to do the same!

How to transfer from the tape to computer to burn a dvd

Hi,
To transfer your canon data in tape, you need to install driver of canon mini dv in your computer. Then paired your canon with computer trough usb to make data transferring. To burn a dvd disc you need to install software for dvd burner like Nero S in your computer to edit your AV and burn into DVD disc. Make sure your computer have DVD R/W to do so.

Panasonic AG-EZ30 motor noise nothing moving

well if it uses a tape mechanism .It will only have 3 motors .LOADING, CAPSTAN and HEADS.If one of these is running without tape ,you should get an error of somekind of your screen .If there is no error from mech then noise is possibly an electrical whine from the LCD panel power supply and or main camera power supply .

DVD to mini DV tranfer

Only way is Play burned DVD in dvd player and provide Audio- Video out (yellow-red-white) to mini DV camera that has AV Line Input recording facility. Or find any Mini DV recorder and record tape.
In that way you can record video again on Mini DV tape.

Video memory full on camcord, how to burn it onto a dvd?

First be sure to have installed ImageMixer software that came with the camera. If you can't find the disc go here... http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=DCRSR40&LOC=3 then select your operating system and then select imagemixer to download.

Step 1:
Place camera onto docking station, connect usb cable to computer, open camera door, turn on camera. Imagemixer should open automatically, if not open up imagemixer.

Transfer to Computer:
Select "Viewing and Editing", then select "handycam" tap, click on "▼" (arrow) facing down, then click "movies". Place a check mark on each movie you wish to move to the computer then click "Options" tab (lower left corner) and see where the movies will end up once you click "Import to computer".

Burn to DVD:
Be sure you have a DVD drive that can write to DVD's. Will have DVD R/RW on the face of the drive. Place a blank DVD into drive. Follow Step 1. Then click "One Touch DVD Burn" from the imagemixer menu. Follow any instructions on screen.

Or you can choose to use Windows Explorer and select the drive letter that is your camera's harddrive and move/copy/cut/paste files directly from this location to another.

8mm Samsung camcorder: choppy playback

This seems like a tape playback problem. Can you look at the output of the tape in the camera directly into a monitor? And checking the tapes on another machine would also be good.

The fast movement breakup can be something in the playback circuitry of the camera. It may not show up in the viewfinder. Also yo umay try repacking the tape. Fast forward it to the end and rewind it all the way.

Hi8 to dvd

Greetings ocean view,

My suggestion would be to find a retailer who transfers video tape to dvd. They use an actual machine to do this and it should recognize your tape. This might solve your problem.

I hope this helps!
Sincerely,

Dorothy

Downloading to computer to burn to a dvd

I have a zr300. You need a firewire connection and a firewire cable to download the contents of your minidv tape for burning. You can not do that with a usb cable. USB cable can only download photos and videos from your memory card not from the tape.

You can connect this directly to a DVD recorder. I suggest using S-Video and the two audio channels.

Archiving Digital Camcorder Video - Ideal Formats

Let's try to bottomline this. If you want said DVD to play in most players, you'll be encoding the video according to standards. The current DVD is MPEG2. At the current time, most people just have DV camcorders so you don't see the generational loss as you move the video from DV to DVD. At least I don't.
