I just purchased a new Dell desktop yesterday from Best Buy, Geek Squad came out and installed everything yesterday, the tech that came out said I should not download the Sandisk installation CD for my MP3 player, to be able to Best buy Music store and the Media Manager, is this correct, I am not sure my new PC would not be compatable with the Sandisk software?

A better recommendation is to use a program like Acronis, to copy your current OS image from the existing drive to a New larger drive, and install the larger cloned drive as the C: and format the old drive as D: for extra storage. If you don't feel comfortable doing it, that is a project that Geek Squad should be able to do for you.

If you have an HDMI input from your computer you can do it. You probably have HDMI output on your computer which is why it isn't working.
Pinnacle makes an HDTV TV tuner that will work on your computer that installs onto a USB port. It's available at Best Buy as well.
The other way to do it is to get a series 3 Tivo with a Wireless adapter and install the Tivo media software onto your computer. The server software will take the shows off of your Tivo and download them to your notebook computer.
Dont pay the Geek Squad robber barons a dime...it is easy to put in a sound card. shut down your computer, unplug it, take out the screws holding one (usually the left) side on, take it off, GROUND YOURSELF!!!. it is then a simple matter of finding a slot for it to fit in (you may have to take a rail of the back of the case for the slot) plug it in securely, close up your case, plug it back in, then follow instructions that came with the card for installing drivers and such....
