55" Projection TV

Watching my 55" projection TV all of a sudden the screen went blank and the sound stopped. I'm wondering if anyone can tell me the problem and what I can do to repair it. Model # 9P5534C102.

I purchased the chip kit for the model 9P5534C102, but it did not solve the problem. The TV still did not come on. I appreciate the suggestion. Are there any other suggestions? What is the cost of the complete circuit board?

Check www.magnavoxhelp.com. They have a chip kit that may fix this problem.

I would check your solder connections again. Also make sure the chip was not put in backwards. The chips typicaly fixes the problem. You can ship me your old chip and I will test it in my TV.
I put a dip socket in my set so that I could pop chips in and out to test them. If your chip works in my TV then we will know for sure that it was not the opto IC chip. Dumb question: Did you check the fuse inside the set?

Akai rear projection tv suddenly stopped working.

This set with Akai is actually made by Samsung (they own and use the Akai name).

If lamp light etc and you have heard a cracking sound it may be the color wheel.

You can remove the lamp and look where it faces--look and the wheel can be seen----is it shattered or missing plastic pieces?

The wheel commonly fails in this fashion and is turning at over 12,000 rpm. The set will detect if the wheel is stopped or moving too slow and just what you describe will happen.

Wheel is widely available and You Tube has video instructions for replacing them by model number.

My screen went blank but the sound works fine. We were watching TV when the screen went out. The sound stayed on. We still get sound but no picture. Is this worth fixing? If so what is the best way to go...

all in one day my screen started by showing a u look at top and bottom. all three colors kind of separated from each other and therefore made shadows on all the writing and double and triple vision on people and images. then it drawed in from sides and showed some black. then it popped in the back and no picture. the sound then came back on with no picture. so i shut it off and unplugged it. what do i have to get to fix this? thank you, Robert Hopkins

Picture went blank. Still have sound. What is wrong?

When was the last time,this tv the projection lamp was replaced?The projection lamp in the tv now,has not been replaced the last 1 1/2 or 2 years.The tv been on and watches 4 or 5 hours a day.The projection lamp life span is over.Require a new projection lamp.
