Does the screen goes black imply that the sound is still working? Please clarify this so that I can offer you a solution.
Hi,
I don't want to jump to conclusions, but this can be a sign that the main A/V board has died. It's also possible that you accidentally switched to PC or an internal input mode that has no device connected.
The first thing to do is try pressing the "TV" button on your remote - directly above the number 1. If you have a DVD player or VCR, put a disc/tape in the player and play it. Then press the "AV" or "COMPONENT" button on your remote (depending which input connection you are using) and see if there is any display from the DVD player or VCR.
If you are using a cable or satellite receiver, try unplugging and re-plugging the connections at both ends with the TV off, then turn the TV back on and try the steps above again.
Finally, if none of the above return your TV to "normal", try pressing the "INPUT" button on the front of the TV 3 or 4 times and then also try the "MENU" button on the front of the TV.
If you TV is still not displaying a picture from any source, please post back and let me know the results of the above tests, in particular, whether the on-screen menu opens when you press the menu button on the front of the TV.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
BElectric
