Sometimes the image captured on my Maxxum 7D has an intense magenta hue. Continues for a few frames, then goes back to normal color image capture. Ant ideas as to what's happening?

Unfortunately, no. By recording in fast mode, the camera captured fewer frames than usual. When played back at the normal speed, the action appears faster than normal. Because the camera recorded fewer frames, there is no way to make up for the images that were not captured. You could slow down the playback, but the result would be a jerky, jumpy video. Now, if you had accidentally captured the video in slow motion, you could then throw away some of the intervening frames and recreate a normal-speed video.
This maybe two problems, the pink color hue in the picture and lines from lens shutter problems. Your LCD is still good. You have to replace motherboard and lens.
launch the Logitech toolbar from your desktop start your webcam by clicking the 'Quick Capture' menu (2 film frame pic) with webcam still running click on the 'Settings' menu ( 2 gear wheels) monitor your image and increase the colour intensity by moving the slider toward the + sign
If your camera is not opening, sometimes it may be that the battery may be low. If your image capture is not clear enough, first of all clean the camera glass or lens thoroughly, then you go to... Camera mode -> Click options -> Effects -> select Normal. Back to options -> White balance -> select Auto. Back to Options -> Image quality -> select Normal. Hope it puts smile on your face.
That is the soung of everything, including the lens & mirrors getting locked into place. It's normal. I wore out a Maxxum (after about 9,000 pictures) and bought another.
There is a known problem with the 7D and some early 5D's where sometimes when you turn the camera on and take a picture it is all black and the camera locks up. You can turn it off and back on and the problem goes away for awhile. Don't know if this is what ou are experiencing. If it is, Sony (who bought out Konica Minolta's camera division) will fix the problem for free. Just had this repaired on my 7D.
