You need a codec pack for Windows Media Player. CCCP(Combined Community Codec Pack). It one of the most popular codec packs, which can support almost all video/audio files, be it common formats or uncommon ones. With it, you can also play MKV animations in Windows Media Player without any difficulties.

Windows media does not support all extensions. Below are the examples. if you have the right format and still you are not able to play then best option is to upgrade or reinstall media player. Windows Media Player 6.0 loadTOCNode(2, 'moreinformation');

Archos 605 won't play music

Try adding some songs using Windows Media Player. Then on the home screen go to menu-system-system repair tools and reset the temporary settings ( the 1st option on top). Warning:If you have rated your songs the ratings will disapear.

Mustek pve h230

My mustek seems to be able to play music files (wma/mp3) fine but i don't know how to play videos on it. I've used the converter that came on the CD with the mustek and I've also tried converting using various media converters.
