Lost my Owner's manual for my SanDisk Sansa e260 MP3 Player. How can I get another one. device wont connect to the computer

Also make sure you are connected to a 2.0 usb the back of the computer is best (the motherboard).... USB mode located on the sansa if asked to change to MSC goto menu press enter scroll to settings press enter scroll to usb mode press enter scroll to msc press enter press menu.....Connect should auto start sansa software..... i would need you to try connecting it to some other ports and see how it respond because you see, some devices tend to behave like they are working properly but wouldn't work if they are not connected to a hi-speed hub(port) let's say 2.0 or something.hope this solved your problem?

Solve your MP3 Player Connection Problem.
Go to the Sandisk site and download the firmware update program. And rerun it after you try the instructions in the tip.

if u have a installer cd with the device then
please install the driver then plug your device
in the connectivity cable.

I assume that you are running an older version of Windows from XP/2000. If you can get on the internet, go to Sansa's site and download the driver from there. Here is a link http://mp3support.sandisk.com/sansa/SMC

To obtain the driver for your sandisk device go to http://www.sandisk.com/DriverDownload/index.asp and find the driver for your device..and then connecct the device on the back of your computer...it should work properly..if you are still having any problems..let me know..i would be more than happy to assist you..

Try to add the device manually.

Plug the player in while it’s set to "MTP" mode. (This selection is in the Settings area)

On your computer, open Device Manager, and select: Add Hardware.

Choose the "already connected the hardware" option.

From list, choose "Add a new hardware device".

Select: "Install the hardware that I manually select from a list."

Select: Portable Devices, then MTP device.
