Check in the cam menu for the option to enable date, date and time or only time and set the option as you wish. Cheers

Thanks for trying to help, but when I go to the cam menu the only option there is for the date and time, is to change the date and time. I am usually pretty good at figuring these things out but I am stumped on this one

Do a search for photo time date software. Irfanview does have that ability and it is free.

SOURCE: how to add time and date to a 10M or 6M pictures, seems

Sorry, don't know why Canon designed it this way, but it is only possible in "Postcard" resolution. This is true for all Canon models.

For those wishing to set their camera to include Date/Time stamp on the photos:
As mentioned, the date stamp only works in "Postcard" resolution. Press the "Func Set" button, then scroll down to the bottom to select postcard resolution.
Then press the menu button. Select the "Camera" menu, then scroll down to the the Date Time Stamp selection to turn it on.

I accidentally set the date imprint on my camera. I'm wondering if there is a way to get the date taken off of the front of the pictures I have already taken.

From the manual, "Imprinted dates form a permanent part of image data and cannot be deleted."

The best you can do it to make sure that Date Imprint is turned off for future pictures. The camera still records date/time info into each picture file, and many printing programs can imprint that onto the picture at printing time. The good ones print it on the back, so as not to interfere with the image. Either way, you can always add the date to the picture, but you can't remove it once it's there.

No date and time printing on the picture

It does not print on the picture. After downloading right click on picture and then click properties and it will show time/date. You can find programs to add time/date programs to add after download.

Cannon powershot sd1000 date stamp

No, you can't while they are in the camera. Date and time are added by the camera when it captures the image, so if you didn't have the time/date stamp on when you took the picture, it won't be there. What you could do is upload the pictures to your computer and add the date and time yourself in Paint, IrfanView or another similar program.

Print date/time on pictures

The camera does not add the date and time to the image itself, but rather saves it in the file as it does other information.

When printing a picture you can select that you wish to add a date/time stamp.
