On your remote, click menu, then setup, then external devices, then input labels. Here is a link for manual:

The Wii doesn't output an HD signal so you will not be able to get an HD image on your television. It's not the tv's fault but the limitations of the Wii. Although component video cables were used for early HD boxes and tv's, they weren't the reason for HD on your set. The box the signal starts with is the signal all the way through. Even a video scaler won't get you an HD image although it may increase the perception of a higher resolution image.

My Panasonic 42 inch plasma tv randomly shuts off. when turned on it flashes 6 time pauses for 4 and flashes 6 times. Modal # is TH-42PZ85U

Check out the charts to determine the faulty part. Likely, there is a burned out component and it needs the board needs to be replaced.

This is a problem with your components. You can have the components replaced with a new set which may be expensive, or live to learn using av3 only with a switch system.

It sound like you are using a component video connection to the TV, which is of variable specification. Try a different type of video feed from your Comcast box

Which conections for the video and audio cables should be used for the Wii? I put them into the side panel (because of easy access), but can not get the start screen for wii after all is turned on....

once you have matched up the wii audio and video cables to the side panel yellow for video
white and red for audio
thinking you plugged them into one of your tv's av slots
now use your tv remote to switch through your tv's inputs (av1) (av2)
some tv's have a button like that on the tv itself.

Audio drop outs when using HDMI connection on new Viera

The way I solved it was to go into advanced settings and change the audio input connected to the hdmi port to component. I had to run an audio cable from the cable box into the TV but since I did this we haven't had the problem.
