I have a double KitchenAid superba built-in oven, but the lower oven doesn't seem to be able to warm up? Is there any way one can lock the use of the lower, or do I need to use the upper oven to activate the lower? Charlotte, Katy, TX
Re: I have a double KitchenAid superba built-in oven, but...
There should be separate fuses for the top and bottom oven. check all of them if this is not the problem maybe your burner in the bottom oven is burnt.

f5e1 is a door locking error. try shutting off power for a minimum of 2 minutes to reset the control board. If you still get the error replace the latch. Here is the part to order.
Absolutly could of course be the EOC (electronic oven control) since it does control both the upper and lower over. Sorry for your luck but just because a part has a high failure rate that manufacture isnt required ti issue a recall as long as thier isnt a saftey issue such as potential fire or what have ye
I have a Superba built-in YKEBS 177 D56 ( dual convection/convention)...I think it might be about 10 years old. I noticed the same thing starting last year..the temperature seems a litlle off and the cook time on the convention seems to take longer. I've never used the conventional oven so I don't know if the temperature is OK on that component.
I don't have a manual. and I've been searching for it...does anyone know which one I need?
Sorry I couldn't help with your problem, mine is similar to your though!!
I had the same problem with a Superba wall oven. In my case, the bracket mount for the door lock warped due to the heat of the self clean cycle. We were able to open the door by inserting a coat hanger into the slight opening at the top of the door and sliding the lock lever to the left. It was a pretty easy self-repair -
1) turn off breaker
2) slide oven out 2-3"
3) remove oven front trim pieces
4) remove screws that mount control panel
5) this should give you access to the door lock mechanism.
good luck
im not familiar with this particular model but on most ovens you shoud only have to open the doors and the screws that hold it in should be visible. generaly 2 on each side
