I just had this same problem - I suspect it may have been a new app I installed that changed some settings.
I fixed mine by going into Settings>Mobile Network settings, then tick "Use packet data". Worth a try.

I wnt to "More Settings".Then to Mobile Networks. But i do not see "use packet data". What i get is Mobile Data box, data Roaming box to be checked only. I get Acess point names, Network mode, Network Operators but not "use packet data"..

Can I hot spot this phone to a wi fi

Hi Shelagh, If you're trying to connect to your home Wi-Fi The password is on the back of the modem, Write it down then go into your phone/tablet settings and tap "CONNECTIONS", Then tap on Wi-Fi and make sure it's switched on(should be a button there), Once switched on it should start scanning automatically for networks, but if not then there's a scan button there somewhere. When it finds the modem just tap on it and a small window opens for the password, Type in the pass word tap ok and you're connected... Bellow is a link to a short youtube video explaining pretty much the same thing I said..... I hope this helps..., CHEERS..

When I go to settings and hit Wi-Fi, my networks do not appear. Have no scanning abilities

Samsung Galaxy S4: WiFi not scanning for networks:

Hello:

Try these troubleshooting tips:

1. If this is happening at home, it could be your network setup is having issues, turn off your router/modem, wait 2 minutes, and then turn the router back on.. wait for the router to connect and then try again..

OR

2. Go to:
Settings > WiFi > (remove your network & then re-add it, don't forget you need your WiFi password in order to log back in)

OR

3. Go to:
Settings > Connections (Network Connections) > More Networks > turn on Airplane Mode > wait a few seconds and then turn off Airplane Mode

OR

4. Go to:
Settings > My Device > Turn Power Saving Mode Off

Cant connect to Wifi

To connect to secure wifi you need the password for the wifi router you are trying to connect to. You cannot just connect to a secure network unless you have that password - the owner of the router will have the password.

MY SONNY ERICSSON X8 WHY I CAN'T GET THRU IN WIFI

To connect to a WLAN via Wi-Fi™:
  1. From the Home screen, find and tap Settings.
  2. Tap Wireless controls > Wi-Fi settings.
  3. Mark the Wi-Fi checkbox. Available Wi-Fi™ networks are displayed in a list under Wi-Fi networks. The available networks may be open or secured. This is indicated by the icon next to the network name.
  4. Tap a Wi-Fi™ network to connect to it. If you are trying to connect to a secured Wi-Fi™ network, you are asked to enter the security key for that Wi-Fi™ network before you can connect to it. The Wi-Fi™ connection is displayed in the status bar once you are connected.
Useful tip:
  • The next time you connect to a Wi-Fi™ network, the phone will remember the security key.
  • To enable Wi-Fi™ network notification of open networks, mark the Network notification checkbox.
  • To connect to another Wi-Fi™ network, just tap another Wi-Fi™ network in the Wi-Fi networks list.
  • To scan for Wi-Fi™ networks manually, press the Menu key and tap Scan. The phone scans for Wi-Fi™ networks and displays them in the Wi-Fi networks section.

Cannot connect ti Wi-Fi. Message says obtaining ip address but as soon as a remembered message on wi-fi network, wi-fi disconnects and starts scanning again. This process repeats itself but never...

Do you have other devices such as tablets, notebook, PC, or smart devices on the same Wi-Fi network? Do they have a similar problem?

Try logging on to a different Wi-Fi network such as free services in some shops and stores. If you cannot connect anywhere, your phone may be bad.

Wifi saying unable to scan networks

Hello!
Here are the things you can try for a malfunctioing Wi-Fi on your Galaxy S:
Try turning off your Wi-Fi then turn it on again.
  • Sometimes, this works for me as the Wi-Fi might need a restart so it can try scanning again. You can do so by going to Settings > Wireless and Network > Wi-Fi Settings and ticking the Wi-Fi checkbox.
Turn off your handset then turn it on again.
  • An app that was running on your handset might be messing with your Wi-Fi, so to make all things better, you can restart your handset for a fresh boot. :)
Check if there are actually Wi-Fi networks in your area or the Wi-Fi is too weak.
  • If there aren't any Wi-Fi networks to detect, it can't do anything at all in the first place. Try moving to an area with better Wi-Fi signal.

You can ask me if you have any queries! :) ~azukibean70

Pandigital won't connect to wifi. went to a locaton that had free wifi, no password required and it won't connect

On the top of the tablet is the Wi-Fi & Low Power Button.
Make sure that it is "slid" to the left.

1. Tap Wi-Fi settings to select and connect to a local wireless network.
The device automatically scans and lists local Wi-Fi Networks found.
A indicates secure networks that require login passwords to connect.
2. Tap the desired network to which you want to connect.
If your Wi-Fi broadcast is set as hidden, it won't be found by the auto
scan. Tap Add Network -> enter the network name and key,
-> tap Save.
3. If the network is secure, tap in the password entry field to enter the
Network Password.
4. Tap Connect.
5. Tap < to return to previous screens.
The Wi-Fi symbol on the top of screens indicates the Wi-Fi is connected, otherwise no icon is displayed

If you did all of the above, get a hold of Pandigital
