Hi, I have a Sony CCD-trv36 , handycam Vision, the problem is it is when I am in player mode, i get no video, it seems like its not recording anything but the rec light is on and all other functions seem to work, I tried severaal tapes what can it be. P.Balija

Your camera uses the rca cable to connect too your TV right, then get a DVD recorder that has an RCA input and select the input channel. Hit record on the DVD recorder then Play on the Camera.
It will record realtime you may aswell enjoy your home video as you record it.
I would STRONGLY advise not to record through a PC using USB... You will drop alot of frames this was as these USB's dont process video fast enough.
Well the cheapest way is to go into record mode, cap the lens with the black lens cap and record a 'black' picture on the tape. This will erase all the pictures on the tape and leave you with a 'black' screen on the whole tape.

I also have a SONY 460x Handycam Vision CCD-TRV68 NTSC video Hi8 Steady Shot not able to record a picture but will record audio, playback is the same. Unfortunatly this occured after warranty was out. Seems like this might have been a manufactors defect.

Your camera ccd-TRV328 has defect with ccdimagerthat's why not giving picture in camera / recording mode. This part (ccd imager) needs to be replaced and good news Sony will replace it free of cost.
