Thats very simple friend, just go back to your system and search for a flat connector called usb with a symbol to make you identify it on the cable of the scanner and on the back of the system

How to get my keyboard back working on my desk top

1: if the keyboard has a round plug going into the computer, it is a PS/2 plug. Turn off your computer, unplug the keyboard, then plug it back in, making sure it is plugged into the correct place for the keyboard (and not the mouse). Then turn the computer back on.

2: If the keyboard has a USB plug, it is not necessary to turn off the computer first, just unplug the USB cable for a few seconds then plug the cable back into the computer. If it still doesn't work, try plugging the USB plug into another USB port on the same computer.

3: If neither option works, you may have a defective keyboard.

Unplug the USB cable to the printer. Uninstall the HP printer software. Reboot. Reinstall the HP printer software and WAIT until the installation program tells you to plug in the USB cable.

Can't scan--says usb not connected

Check your cable and ports. If you are running a laptop, make sure it is connected to AC. Plug in a known working device. If using a hub, directly connect the printer to the computer. Try a new USB cable. Check if your USB ports have been disabled for security or power-savings (in the Device manager or advanced power savings areas).

I hope these ideas help.

(sometimes a flaky USB port will see the device if you just unplug it and then plug it back in to the port. However, this will need to be repeated regularly.)

The scanner(travelscan pro 600) gets a no power or not connected message!

Go to Device Manager and most likely the travelscan pro 600 is not popping up under imaging devices where it should be. Unplug the scanner and plug it into a different USB port. Try this on all the USB Ports on the machine if it reappears in device manager then the software will work. If you are using a USB extention cord or USB hub get rid of them till you try all the ports. If it doesn't i would suggest contacting the manufacture and seeing if the scanner is still under warranty.

I am trying to reinstall HP Scanjet 5400c but it keeps telling me it can't initialize, no scanner recognized...WindowsXP.. it worked before, why not now?

I had similar problem with my UMAX scanner on numerous occasions. I now have this pg earmarked for quick reference! may help I don't know for sure but it is an easy test and if it works your good to go!
It is important that you connect the scanner's power and USB cables in the following order:
1. Plug the power adapter cord into the scanner and into an outlet. The scanner's power will then be on.
2. Connect the USB cable to the USB port on the
back or front of the computer.
NOTE: If you unplug the scanner's power ,you must also disconnect the USB cable from the computer. To resume use of the scanner, remove the power card, the the USB cable.

Sounds like a lot but the order is essential!
If it works, High lite Do unplug USB/unplug cable back of scanner/and plug cable back of scanner then USB!
Good Luck Hope this helps!

Connecting USB during install freezes computer

There are many possible reasons why your computer will shut down when your USB is used but most probably your PC power supply might not have enough power, try unplug other devices such as printers, scanners, other input/output devices except the mouse & keyboard.

The scanner keeps saying that my USB is not plugged in and it is

There is a workaround without messing with drivers. I have the same problem if I use the buttons on the v40 and try to scan. I get the V40 can not connect to the PC message.

Workaround:

Go to Control Panel-->Scanners and Cameras

In there you will find: Hewlett-Packard OfficeJet V40 Scanner

Right click and select Scan. It will then start the scan wizard which will scan your document.
