Most likely suspect is the heater. undo wires from heater and see if fault persists. if not, heater is down to earth and will have to be replaced.
another possibility is a leak causing some of the wiring to be wet

Hotpoint aquarius wmf540 tripping electricity off

Is your washer plugged into a groundfault receptacle if it is and the ground fault receptacle is tripping you need to use less soap in your washing machine or change the receptacle to a non ground fault like a regular 120 V receptacle. the suds are coming down the side of the washer inside and getting some of the electronics Damp and that is tripping out the ground fault receptacle.

Hi, i have a hotpoint WMA37s and half way thru a cycle it tripped my house fuse box. I changed the fuse and tried other sockets in the kitchen but it still trips the fusebox so i am assuming it is the...

It could be the heater, when you said halfway through a wash that would be about 20 minutes or so but the heater would have come on after about 10 minutes, but it is worth checking out (with a meter) or it could be a build up of carbon from the brushes, in which case a quick dust out of the motor housing will clear that. The other possiblity is a wire shorting out on the cabinet, this one is not so straight forward and will need some tracking down. If you have a Megger then do an insulation test for information on this use this link. http://www.selfix-uk.co.uk/Megger.html

All lights flashing on Hotpoint WF541G washing machine

It's probably a loose connection in the wiring in the machine. Seems to be a problem with the WF741 machines and is most likely a similar issue with yours. The probability is that the vibration from the machine is enough to work some connections loose. If you have someone competent to do this, then check that all connectors are pushed firmly onto their circuit boards. (I have posted a separate reply to this issue for the WF741 model on here.) See if this helps.

Machine fills and drains at the same time.

Check the height of the drain hose and make sure the drain hose is higher than 30 inches from the ground. If your drain hose drains into the floor you may need to purchase a siphon break to stop the problem
