I started having problems wth my yahoo messenger last week after installing it it worked for about 2 days before it stopped showing what I or the preson I'm chat with writes. I tried uninstalling and installing it back but it wouldnt work so i asked for help frm the yahoo messenger help over the inter net and it said to install the following: windows service pack 6, vcredist_x86(2).exe, vcredist_x86.exe, BOIE8_ENUS_XPL.EXE, dotNetFx40_Full_setup.exe on sunday, Ever since I installed them I have not been able to use my corel draw X4 software programme. how can you help me?

What you are experiencing is trouble connecting issues with Yahoo Messenger. It is easy to set up an account with yahoo messenger and it will let you sign in for a few days but if the Windows Internet Explorer installed in your computer is outdated then after a few days it will be impossible for you to sign in at Yahoo messenger.

First try to see that your password is correct or not. Log into mail.yahoo.com and if you
are able to login website. Then try terminating yahoo from task manager ( do ctrl+alt+del to
open task manager). Go to processes tab on task manager and search for YahooMessenger.exe,
right click and click on end process. Start yahoo messenger again and try logging in again.

If this doesnt work, you can try uninstalling and installing the yahoo again. But after
unstallation make sure to remove all the remain of files related to yahoo.
Download the yahoo messenger 10 and install a fresh one

it is just part of the glitch in Yahoo!'s new format.
Server Farm incompatibility is usually the problem.
Thousands are having many different problems with their e-mail.
This applies to almost all areas of mail (including signing in, composing, receiving, sending, attachments, photos, etc.), original and beta mail, messenger and search problems. I have been sent mail that is dated as far back as 8 days. But I do get it!!! The same thing applies to their recieving my mail, for the last few weeks.
Yahoo! is wrapping up a few remaining compatibility issues between Yahoo! Mail Beta (beta testing lasts for at least 6 months!!!) and the new Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.
1. You will have less problems with original mail if you sign in via Messenger! Go to preferences, general, then check box: Automatically sign me in when I click a Yahoo! link in Messenger.
2. Or if you don't have Yahoo Messenger:
Beta wouldn't let me in so I went to beta help and it said to click on my toolbar mail icon. So I did and it worked!
3. Or if you don't have beta mail:
http://wap.oa.yahoo.com/ can be used to sign into Yahoo!, then put yahoo back into the address bar and hit go. It will take you back to Yahoo! and you can open mail normally. Otherwise, you can open mail in wap, but it is blind. I had to go through wap each time I logged in.
4. BETA means TESTING!!!
So, it seems we have to stop using these two programs (if you installed them) or try to work around them until they finish wrapping things up. Your IE6 is still installed, so you just have to go to: Start, settings/control panel, add/remove programs and delete IE7. For Beta mail you only have to use the switch back option located in your mail inbox.Also, where you sign in by clicking on: Are you having trouble?. You can keep trying them periodically!

This error is really frustrating in Most of the Newer Versions. This error is mostly due to maintenance and i have seen, if you have 3 different Id's , you might get the above error on 2 different Id and the last one might work. Usually it last for 2 hours.

Okay , follow the steps I mentioned earlier :

Remove any traces of yahoo messenger using windows cleanup utility, then Please download, install and run yahoo messenger from one of the two links below ( You would not get the firewall error now)

Do yourself a favor and get rid of messenger 9, Yahoo still does not have it working correctly!! Do the following >>

You need to uninstall messenger Completely so you can get rid of the corrupted file that is causing your problem and get a clean install.

When you uninstall not all of the yahoo messenger files are deleted from your Program Files, so if the problem you are having is caused by a corrupted file then the problem will still be there when you install it again.

So what you need to do is uninstall messenger then go to your Program files and delete the yahoo folder. This will get rid of all remaining files especially the corrupted ones.

To uninstall you need to click on the Start button(the one on your task bar) then go to Control Panel then to Add/Remove Programs, find yahoo messenger in the list and click on it then on uninstall.<< this is for XP

To uninstall in Vista click on start then Control Panel then on Uninstall a Program in the new window find yahoo messenger click it to uninstall it.

To find and delete the Yahoo folder click on the START button in your task bar then on My Computer then C: drive then Program Files then right click on the Yahoo folder and Delete it. It's a good idea to reboot your PC now to make sure it's all gone out of your system.

I do recommend you get the 8.1.0.421 version as it is the most stable a bug free version of messenger !!

When you download it just save it to your desktop and then run the installer from there.

If you have XP just double click on it to start the install.


To install messenger on Vista you need to download messenger to your desktop. Then Right click on the installer and then click on "Run as Administrator" to get it to install correctly.


No, doing this will not make you lose your contacts and Yes if you do do this with out saving your archived files folder you will lose older messages.

If you'd like to save your archives, follow the instructions below to save them:

1. Click the "Start" menu and select "Run." If you do not see the Run command, then select Start > All Programs > Accessories > Run.
2. Type in "%ProgramFiles%\Yahoo!\Messenger\" and press Enter.
3. Right-click the "Profiles" folder and select "Copy."
4. Click the "Start" menu and select "Run" again.
5. Type in "%UserProfile%\Desktop\" and press Enter.
6. Click the "Edit" menu and select "Paste."

Once you've downloaded the new version of Yahoo! Messenger, you can paste the "Profiles" folder back to:

C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger\
