Leaking Krups XP4030 Espresso Machine

Hi - I've had my Krups XP4030 for a little over a year now.  A few weeks ago, it started leaking water outside of the coffee basket when I make an espresso.  It starts out ok, then it sounds like pressure is building up inside and then it EXPLODES at the top with water - completely ruins the coffee as it gets grounds in the cup, all over, etc.
Any help you can offer?

    there has been similar complaints on this model and are better off contacting their service centre..may i know where you had bought this machine from...bcoz "bed bath and beyond" gives you good service

When i place pod into machine it doesnt have any water or coffee come through when i switch it on
A few initial steps:
  • Insure that the water reservoir is full, and that the machine is plugged in.
  • Check the water inlet tube for kinks.
  • Ensure that you are using the correct portafilter or insert for ESE pods.

Krups xp4050 leaks water and coffee grounds around the brew head. Have replaced the sea because that worked last time. It didn't fix it.

The water pours out the sides when I make expresso. The frother doesn't seem to work, either. I got the machine at Williams Sonoma over five years ago but I live in Guatemala and can't find anyone to fix...

Krups xp4030 wont push espresso thru and when you
I had the same problem. The metal filter is clogged with very finely ground coffee. To clear the filter, boil it in vinegar and let it sit for a few hours. Rinse the filter and run water through it in the machine (no coffee in the filter). I found I had to grind the coffee at the medium setting in order to keep the problem from recurring.
