I have a Nissan Pulsar Q 1998 model and every time I put in a cd I get an error code: E -- 04 and the cd won't play. It was playing cds fine up till now when the sound suddenly stopped, the error code came up and the disc was ejected. Could you tell me what the error code means, please?

Is it a regular cd not a burned cd from computer what type of car radio

yes, a normal audio cd and the radio is a nissan i.e. came with the car.

its a error code when i read up on it its a error code for many things from washiers to camcorders more then likely its an internal issue inside of the radio itsself its a factory radio you might call best buy or circuit city im sorry could help more

thats what i do with mine ,the phone thing but error E 1 means that a cd is jammed in the unit,happens to me all the time as i only use it for jaguar meetings .Now what you do is to pull out the cartridge and remove all the CDS then re insert it and press the eject button again and it might if your lucky retrive the cd in the player and return it to the cartridge ,.then refit all the others till it happens again

2001 nissan xterra when I turn ignition on the radio keeps scanning, will switch to cd then radio & cd player won't play or eject cds. When I hit eject button it makes a loud pop through the speakers....

Mechanic somehow fouled up your radio. Blown fuse maybe? It is a 12yr old radio, coincidence? Probably not.

Nothing you can here this was about the time when they introduced producting coding to stop people from making their own CDs ,copyright thing so buy one of them cheap radio transmitter things that plugs into the ciggy lighter and plays a SD card so put your music on this and play through a preset radio station tuned into the sender transmitter

Xbox 360 won't play new game - screen flickering on the 'press start' screen. plays cd's perfectly and was ok with games till put in new game from Morrisons.

old or new generation model? it might just need a good cleaning with one of those dvd cleaner cds you can buy. I have a game in general "home front" that sounds like my box is gonna blast off.

try using a cd cleaning disc sometimes players get dirt and dust in them causing problems like what you are describing

My front loader reads disc error or unplayable no matter what disc I insert. It worked just fine for about 2 years. It doesn ot get heavy cd use, but everyday radio/alarm use.

To resolve this issue, try one or all of the following:

The Wave® music system is designed to play commercial CDs, CD-Rs, MP3-encoded CDS and CD-RWs. If your system has trouble playing MP3 CDs, make sure the discs were recorded with compatible formats. See Cannot play MP3 CDs

The system may not be able to play certain CD-RW discs. Playability is dependant on how the disc was recorded, including the format it was recorded in and the actual disc used for recording.
Note: iTunes defaults to AAC as the encoding format. In order to use iTunes to make CDs that will play on the Wave® music system, you’ll need to change the format to MP3 How to Choose Import Options

Different brands of CD-Rs and CD-RWs use different materials which may affect the ability of a player to read them. If you are burning your own CD-Rs or CD-RWs, experiment with different brands of discs

If a commercial disc won’t play, check for scratches, fingerprints or other physical damage. Try the CD in another player. If it still won’t play, there may be a problem with the disc

Reset the system by disconnecting the power cord from the wall for one minute, then plug the system back in

lol had this prob so many times, you will find that you have moisture in the cd exchanger and the way i found this out was on removing my cds first thing in the morning a noticed very slight misting on most of the cds. .i put the wifes hair dryer and blasted warm air into it for a good 15 minutes waited till it cooled down cleaaned carefully my cds replaced and away i went. hasten to add that this was temporary a few days later i got the odd cd not playing . i notice the prob more in cold weather and if the car has not been used for a few days. the boot maybe damp .. good luck .stu

E-03: CD does not have selected track number. ? E-04: Disc is dirty, upside down or unreadable. ^^^^ ? E-10: No data is recorded on the MD. The player plays the next disc automatically. ? E-99: Changer malfunction, disc may be caught in machine or changer requires service. I suggest the lens needs a clean, or someone has dropped it and broken the delicate lens mech. Luck
