I havn't had the chance to work on a Slim yet, but from my experience with Phat 360s, you should clean out the connectors for the Ring of Light board with alcohol before reattaching it to the motherboard.

The easiest way to connect your new conroller to your xbox is to plug it into the usb port in the front. This will identify that controller from then on to that Xbox 360 when you use it wireless. (or until you connect it to a different Xbox 360).

You might not be pushing the correct button when trying to sync your controller with the Xbox 30. On the controller you have the main guide button but the button you want is the one on top of the controller to the left of the port were you plug in your charge and play cord. It is small an of the same color as the controller. You need to push it along with the connect button on the Xbox for them to sync.

If you are still having issues then you might have weak batteries. Make sure your batteries are charged and ready to go. Try using AA batteries if you can and see if that solves your issue?

Also, some devices in your house can cause interference with your controllers if they are operating on the same frequency. (i.e. wireless phones, mocrowaves...etc.) Make sure your xbox is away from locations with conflicting frequencies. Metal shelves can also cause havoc on wireless controllers. Make sure your xbox is free of clutter and has breathing room.

Hope this helps.

How do i reactivate the wireless controller to my xbox 360

How to Configure an Xbox Controller Fotolia.com"> configure-xbox-controller-800x800.jpg Configure you Xbox controller.

The Xbox 360 utilizes two types of controllers: wired and wireless. Like most operations on a video game console, configuring a controller requires little effort. You can either plug the controller into a port on the Xbox 360, or sync a wireless controller using the console's built-in controls.
Difficulty:Easy Instructions

  1. Wired
    • 1 Connect the controller's cable to the in-line release cord. This cord prevents you from accidentally pulling the Xbox 360 along with your controller during game play.
    • 2 Insert the in-line release cord's USB plug into the USB port on the front of the console.
    • 3 Turn on the console to activate the controller automatically.
    Wireless
    • 1 Insert batteries in your wireless controller, if necessary.
    • 2 Hold down the "Guide" button on the controller.
    • 3 Push the Xbox 360's "Connect" button, located on the front of the console.
    • 4 Push the controller's "Connect" button to sync it with the Xbox 360.

Console is not syncing with controller even when it is plugged in

are you using a play and charge kit, if so just try taking battery pack out and using normall batterys, as the play and charge kit does not carry any controler info to the xbox only voltage,
so it still acts as a wireless pad even when plugged in,
so what im saying is it could be a rubbish signal due to not having enough power charge,
if this does not fix it and you have tried the proper syncing process involving bothe the sync button on the xobx and the one on the controler its probably a broken controller, you should borrow one off a friend to see if that will connect to make sure not a faulty xbox
thanks

Xbox 360 controllers wont sync when using the rechargable battery packs instead of the 2 AA cell batteries provided with the controllers. Have tried hitting the sync buttons on both the console and...

Opt out the easy way and put a rechargeable battery pack in the controller and use a plug and play controller cord to connect the console to the controller and , voila!, they should be now sync'd to each other.
I hope this helps. Good luck.

My Xbox 360 wont sync any of my wireless controllers and the powe

if your wireless controllers wont sync to your xbox, it could be one of 2 things.

assuming your batteries are fully charged, and that you're using a certified xbox controller, it could be that the controller itself. it is really rare that the wireless receiver inside the xbox itself, goes out, but soemtimes, it happens.

the easiest thing or you to do would be to either pick up an after market controller, or another certified controller, and see if they'll work. if you try other controllers, and they STILL dont work, verify that your system settings are correct, or are set to default, and make sure that your xbox isnt sitting close to something that could be interfering with the signal....like a wireless router for example

if this doesnt work, then it's a problem with the xbox, and you should send it back to the service repair center.

My xbox 360 wireless control won't connect to my xbox 360

Make sure you sync the controller to the xbox by pressing the little white button on the top of the controller and then the same white button on the xbox near the memory card slot. Wait a few seconds and it should connect.

Wireless controller issue

The fact that the controller is not syncing to your console even when connected via the Play and Charge cable leads me to believe that your controller is more or less "a goner". The wireless controllers should automatically sync with the console when plugged in via the cable, so since yours doesn't sync I would guess there is something wrong with the IC chip inside and somehow something got corrupted.

Out of curiosity, when you plug in the cable how can you tell the controller is on if it doesn't sync? Do the lights continuously spin around in a circle? Do they just flash? Does quadrant 1 light up like normal but pressing buttons on the controller doesn't do anything?

Xbox 360 wireless controller

You must sync the 360 with your controller. Turn on your 360 and your controller. Push the little black button on the front of your console, then hold the little tiny button on the top of your controller for a few seconds. This should sync them.
