I have dsl & keep getting internet explorer is not responding & get kicked off. what`s my problem? thanks

Go to start>control panel>internet options>advanced>reset internet explorer button. Leave the user settings, but let the default settings apply. Also, delete history & temporary internet files. If that doesn't do it, run it again & remove user settings.

Lastly- a 2nd browser is a very good idea. I like Firefox. :)

Download the Internet Explorer version 9 if your is below the version. Download it from below link

If you have the same version then lets reset the browser and check

To reset do the following

1: Close Internet explorer
2: Click start > Control panel > Internet Options (classic view ) > Advanced > click on Advanced Restore settings > click on reset button > click Ok then Apply

This will reset the browser

Now check if it works or not

It's possible that the filter could be defective, and it's possible that the telephone line could be interfering with the dsl or signal. Once you have established a good connection, and you now have a green dsl light, you can update the username and password by launching into your modem with the following ip address: 192.168.1.254. Type this on the address bar of your internet explorer. Once you're inside the modem, click on Broadband Link and click Advanced Settings. Update the username and password that which could be you're email address with AT&T and Network password which is provided by your ISP as well. That should get you connected .

Unplug and plug your internet access back in, then try again, reboot your computer. If it still doesn't work, it's probably the web site. You may also be using the web site during peak hours. Try again a little later

Internet explorer has been having this problem for some time now it may just come and go so what i would suggest doing is first switching to Mozilla Firefox.. it handles multiple internet pages a lot better than windows explorer does and it is a lot faster too ad also depending on what you are using to connect to the internet has a lot to do with it too if you are using a dsl i would consider getting a hold of your dsl provider and asking them about switching over to a static or a dynamic link ip this way you will have the straight 1 on 1 instead of having the network going thru several tunnels before it get to you ok

wel check and make sure all your settings are correct fist go into internet options and make sure proxy isnt checked and you dont have it as trying to connect through something other than your dsl

The phone jack on your laptop is used for Dial-up only, i.e.… AOL, EarthLink, etc….
If you’re trying to connect to the internet via Verizon DSL, then you need to connect to a DSL modem just like your PC is. On your laptop you’ll find another jack similar to a phone jack but a little bit wider. This is a 10/100 Base T connection used for Broadband or Hi-speed internet that you will use to connect to your DSL. If you want, you can take the internet cable from the back of your PC and try plugging it in to your laptop. You will need to power OFF and ON the DSL modem you that it will search for the IP (internet protocol) address of your laptop.

Have you called ATT support or bellsouth. Sounds like it has lost the eithernet configuration. or DSL sets itself up so Can you get ont he internet????
