There is definately a ground fault in this unit. Also according to the service manual this is an "Electronic Defrost Control" similar to an "
Adaptive Defrost Control" which determins the defrost initiation by the amount of run time. You cannot set this yourself.

Try turning the temp control to off. Plug the freezer in for an hour and then turn the temp control down to start the cooling.

I have a turbo air upright freezer. having trouble understand ertain sensors and how this unit functions. on the schematic there is a f sensor and d sensor and bi metal switch. Customer called that this...

without a model number, I can only tell you the general function of most freezers. Theory is that the bi-metal is probably a defrost heater safety to prevent overheating. A sensor of some type will prevent the evaporator fan from coming on until the evaporator temp hits a preset temperature. Some freezers are setup to terminate on either time or temperature, whichever occurs first.
Hope this helps some. Need model number for further help.

Is it possible for a delfield freezer 6151 XL-S to trip a breaker every 2-3 hours if the TXV valve was faulty letting liquid get to compressor. This unit has had controller and relay start assembly...

I would look to see if it is tripping during the defrost cycle. One of the heater elements my be faulty. Never heard of a bad TXV causing a breaker tripping, but I guess it's possible. I would adjust the superheat so that it is about 6 to 8 degrees just prior to unit reaching temp and shutting off. I'd start there.

We ve had the Bosch fridge-freezer (KGU3201GB/01) for about 10 years. Suddenly this morning the freezer started losing temperature, which rose to -13 degrees and the alarm went off. We put the...

Hi Robert, sounds like the unit is not defrosting.

Try this to indicate defost issues.
1. relocate food in the freezer, turn the unit off for 2 days and leave the door open, this will allow total defrost.
2. clean, then restart unit with door closed, after and every 2 hours check temp, I feel you may find it will get to its operating temp reasonably fast and should stay there.

If this is the case, I suspect the defrost heater element has failed and needs replacing, this is the most common cause of your type of issue.

Hope that helps and please dont forget to vote. Regards Russ

True Freezer- The 5 amp circuit breaker trips when the light on

I believe that breaker is actually for door frame heaters. Most true freezers have a resettable breaker for the door perimeter heaters only.

Unit not freezing , evaporator fan wont run

If this is a Bev-Air, don't think the door switch will control the fan. At the evap, there is a temp sensor called a fan delay. When unit goes into defrost mode, this warms up. Some also serve a dual purpose. It will terminate the defrost cycle at a certain temp., say 51 degrees or so, at the evap. Anyway, when unit comes out of defrost, it keeps the fan off so it allows the evap to cool quicker and to prevent circulating warm air. This could be your problem. Not a hard fix but they can be a pain sometimes. Outside chance that the unit is low on refrigerant (freon). This will not let the evap get cold enough to trip the sensor back into position to turn the fan on. Good Luck. Restaurant Parts and More carry alot of Bev-Air stuff. 1-888-814-1110. Ask for Rick
