Hello.

Sounds like the file you are trying to open is corrupted. If you have a backup file, backup the current file for safekeeping and use a recent backup file.

When the program prompts, then creates a backup file for a database, it has a .bak suffix. However it also creates a folder in the 'Safe' folder under c:\program files\estimates. Locate the most recent version of the db files in the Safe, copy the folder to the c:\documents and settings\...\Invoices directory, and the most recent uncorrupted database should be available.

Hope this helps.

Per Avanquest: We have found out that this randomly happens due to an interruption in saving the data in MyInvoices and Estimates Deluxe version 10. We recommend that you do the following steps:Go to the Task Manager. On the Applications tab, click on MyInvoices and Estimates.Click on End Task.Relaunch MyInvoices and Estimates.Create a new invoice/estimate and save it.
If that fails to resolve the issue, you should also try the following:

This worked for me without losing any data other than the invoice I was creating. Always make backups so if your data file is corrupted, you can easily restore it. Hope this helps.

Home and business shutdown

If you have a bootable CD or DVD drive in your computer, download a copy of Hiren's BootCD, or Parted Magic, and boot to that operating system. Then you could copy the files off to another drive such as a flash drive or external hard drive.

You have to backup all the require data to an external storage media first. If your are not familar with the software data backup. Ask your principal help or the person who operate on the system, to backup their vital data for to the external storage media, because you don't know which files are important.

Once you have install the OS, On installing "My Invoices & Estimates Deluxe" make sure the name the company file the exact same as the back up file name. If not you will not be able to load the backup files ie. you get errors opening the backup files.

Hope it helps.

We just upgraded to Windows 7 and we cant get our old invoice program to load. Its Proventure Invoices & Estimates version 1.0.0B . Can you help us?

Your accounting software may not be compatible with Windows 7. Check the manufacturer's website to see if it is or not.

You can also try the Windows 7 compatibility fix.

To do this, follow Microsoft's suggestions here.

When the program prompts, then creates a backup file for a database, it has a .bak suffix (not amazing). However it also creates a folder in the 'Safe' folder under c:\program files\estimates... All I had to do was locate the most recent version of the db files in the Safe, copy the folder to the c:\documents and settings\...\Invoices directory, and the most recent uncorrupted database was readily available for File Open. Voila.

Unable to Email Invoices

if you are using office it can be set to not send some attachments.
it is usually safe to rename the extensions on them to something stupid.
make a copy of the file first .
but to rename the extension you have to see it first.
open any folder and goto the tools/folder options/ uncheck the hide extensions for known file types.
hit ok
then you can see the extension of all file names.
See if that works for you.
Other times its the size of the file you are sending
the normal limit is 2 meg for email.
