Can u help please re my acer laptop aspire 5735z...when i plug in my memory stick to the usb point it doesnt show on the computer..i have tried all 3 points and have also tried my speakers adn mp3 player and they just dont show up on my computer. can you help me please? I have checked to see if the usb ports are okay and the computer says device is working properly

You can connect the two laptops together using -
1. Laplink USB cable and software.
2. Network the two computer together and share both the hard drives on each laptop.
3. Use an USB memory stick to copy files from one laptop and then plug it into the other laptop and copy the files off the USB memory stick.

It's looks like the battery was already completely dead.

Find a USB memory-stick, and find a computer with Internet access and an available USB port.
Put the memory-stick into the USB slot.
Browse to ACER's web-site, and select your specific model of the Aspire line, and select Windows XP, and select network-controllers, and download the device-drivers, and copy them onto the memory-stick,.
Walk the memory-stick to your Acer, and install the device-driver.

Find a friend with a computer that does have a CD-ROM, and a USB port. Purchase a USB memory-stick that has at least 1GB of memory.
Get your friend to copy all the files from the CD-ROM to the memory-stick, including any "hidden" files.

Then, put the USB memory-stick into your computer, and install the software.

updates can be slow,and lead to more updates sometimes.you should goto windows update,let it search for important updates then install them.even if it takes a while,once you do that it should be fine.and configure updates to auto download but ask to install.

first go into device manager and write down exact names of drivers for
AUDIO
DISPLAY
NETWORK
SAVE ANY FILES TO FLASH/MEMORY stick

I think you might have a loose cononection for the data ports. Try putting a little bit of force on the usb device. Up, down left right. NOT ALOT. If it starts working when force is used, i tihnk you should try to take it apart and resolder the connections. If it dosen't work, uninstalling the driver and installing.

Looks like it is a problem with those ports since you bought the computer.
Pls take it to a local tech to diagnose the problem or contact Acer Tech Support

try going into Control panel-administrative tools-computer management-disk manager Does it show up there? could be a problem with the memory sticks too: like unformatted state tried in another pc?
