Same problem with mine, was about to go in the bin when I tried inserting a small piece of cardboard between the body and battery (opposite end to the contacts) to wedge the battery more firmly. It's been 'on' for a full 2 days now for the first time in 3 weeks. I'd say there's a design fault with how the battery sits

Use Alcohol pad and wipe the terminals on the battery itself and the phone.

Use Alcohol pad and wipe the terminals on the battery itself and the phone.

This should solve the turning on and off by itself problem, just did it for my phone.

Nokia 5230 problem - the phone turns on okay, but then does not respond to screen or key touches. I've taken the battery out and replaced it again, but it keeps happening. Any suggestions? Thank you.
