  • Hi, to verify the "Communication Switch" is on. Go to the "All Programs," select (Toshiba) from the menu, open the "Utilities" program and click on the Toshiba Assist. My wireless adaptor isn't working. I have an Acer travel mate5720 which has a switch on the front for blue tooth & wireless access. Bluetooth works ok but the Wireless adaptor won't i have checked in...

This model does have wireless. I had a similar problem a little while ago, I plugged the unit in to a wired connection, and on it's own, disabled the wireless adapter.
Go to start--> control panel--system-->hardware-->device manager

look under the "network adapters", there should be a wireless adapter or 802g something something, right click on this item and click "enable".

You should then be able to browse for wireless networks now.

My wireless button does not work on compaq nx7010

Press the Windows key on the Keyboard and then press the "R" key while holding down the Windows key to open the Run dialog box.
Then, type "msinfo32" in the Run dialog box and click OK to open the System Information window.
In the left pane, click on the plus sign next to the Components then click on the plus sign next to the Network.
Under the Network, click on the Adaptor to view the information regarding all the network adaptors functional in the Computer.

You can view the Network adaptor's information on the right pane. On the right pane, check whether the wireless adaptor is listed or not.

Furthermore, you can check in the Device manager under the "Network Adaptor" category whether the wireless adaptor is listed.

If the wireless adaptor is not listed in either of the windows then the issue is hardware related and service will be required.

Can't set up wireless connection

  1. Check in your system: Click Control Panel, then double click System. On the Hardware tab click Device Manager. Click the (+) sign besides the Network Adapter. See if the Packard bell wireless adaptor is there. If its is not there, right click the Network Adapter and click Scan for hardware changes, and reinstall the network adapter.
  2. If the Packard bell network adapter is already there, click Start and click My Network Places. On the left side of the Network Connection, click View Network Adapter. The wireless network adapter should be there. Right click the wireless network adapter and choose properties. Give check mark on Show icon in notification area when connected (to show you if there is wireless notification), and give check mark to Notify me when this connection has limited or no connectivity (to show if the wireless network is disconnected). and click OK
  3. Turn on the orange broadband livebox. And right click the the wireless network connection (on Network Connection) and choose View Available Wireless Networks. And the click the Orange broadband Livebox to use this wireless Network connection.
I hope this solution is helpful to solve your problems

Best Regards
Blackrobin
