Sounds as if the back light is going out or it maybe not plugged in all the way. Check on line to see how your back light is inserted and then you maybe able to check to see if it is plugged in all the way.

your cable box is effecting the component line in 1 or 2 in the back of the tv

Ur main video board backlight,is dying must be replace to solved this prob.

The main board is more than likely the cause of the trouble. Time for a new TV.

How old is the TV? Usualy the most common problem with these Projection TV's are the LAMPS. They can last anywhere from 1 yr to 3 yrs. They usualy need to be replaced after 1yr and a half (18 months). Manufacturer's usually warranty them for that period of time. There is an access panel in the rear of the TV. If you open this panel you can see the lamp. Check it and see if it has gone out.

this could be three differnt things

1. the crt itself could be bad

2.the vertical ic on the crt board

3. the focus pack or focus block

Replacing the board is much more expensive than repairing it, if the repairs can indeed be done...accordianman

it's called retrace lines ,your screens are set to high or focus block assy which has the screen adjustments on it also is faulty
