My universal remote went out and somehow the tv-a Sansui-got switched from channel 3. How can I get it back to channel 3 so the converter will work? I tried changing channels manually at the tv but it skips channel 3. Thanks for your help.

1) Connect the converter box to a good digital TV antenna and position the antenna as high and as close to a window as possible.
2) Set the converter box 'output switch' to an unused channel for your area. (Usually 2, 3 or 4.)
3) Connect the output of the converter box to the 'antenna input' on the TV.
4) Turn on both units and set the TV channel to the same output channel selected above.
5) Now select TV channels using the converter box remote only. The TV should receive all converted channels on the preselected channel.
6) Adjust the TV antenna for the best reception for all channels.

The model number you provided is for the Sansui tv remote. Are you trying to set up a universal remote that works with your new tv?

Try using the channel buttons on the front of the tv to go below channel 1. If this doesn't work you will need the original remote or you could try a different universal remote. You can use an RF modulator, available at walmart or radio shack, to feed the signal through the antenna jack on the back of the set.

Sorry to say that Sansui is not listed to Sony V201 remote control. Anyway I'll give you some three digit and four diit conds for Sansui. I'm not sure will it work, but try these, sometimes you may get.

Three digit universal remote codes for Sansui are:
135/ 136
Four digit universal remote code for Sansui TV/VCR combo is
0310

Four digit universal remote code for Sansui TV are:
0135 0310

Direct Code Entry

1. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator stays on, then release the SETUP button.
2. Press and release the desired Mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blinks, then stays lit.
3. Enter the 4 digit code from the code tables. Note: after a valid code entry, the red indicator turns off. For an invalid code, the red indicator flashes.
4. With your device on, press CHANNEL UP. If the device responds, no further programming is required. Note: If some buttons do not operate your device, try one of the other codes for your brand.

Code Search If after trying "Direct Code Entry" your device does not respond, or if your brand is not listed, try doing a search of the code library for your code by following these steps.

1. Manually turn on the device (TV, VCR, etc.) to be controlled.
2. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator stays on, then release the SETUP button.
3. Press and release the desired Mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blinks once, then stays on.
4. Press the CHANNEL UP button repeatedly (up to 300 times) until the device to be controlled changes channel. The red indicator blinks, then stays lit.
5. Press and release MUTE to install the code. The indicator light goes off.

Most users will want to store VCR codes under the VCR button, Cable codes under CBL, etc. If you want to store a VCR code under CBL, etc., first follow the procedure for Direct Code Entry and press CBL in step 2 of Direct Code Entry, then enter ANY VCR code in step 3 of Direct Code Entry. Then follow the steps above for Code Search.

NOTE: Switch OFF and switch ON your combo with its FRONT PANEL POWER ON-OFF SWITCH each time before trying an other code.

It may mean that the code you entered is incorrect. Try these: 0135, 0310 and 0394.

If your set does not have a menu button built into the set your out of luck unless you can find a replacement or universal remote.

found solution by holding down both volume buttons at same time which enables on-screen menu allowing to select channel auto program

Call the customer service number on the back of the set to see if the remote is still available.
