Had 570UZ for 2 weeks and "ZOOM ERROR" occured. Seemed hopeless. Changed batteries several times, bought new Alkaline. No change. Finally decided that it is probably a connector problem. Turned Camera Off. Held Camera by the lense barrel. Held palm of other hand and thrust the back of the camera ( LCD side) into the other hand. The idea being to jostle the camera contents without cracking the LCD. Did this a couple of times, turned camera on and it works fine. At least for this evening. At least for now it seems like a classic component connector problem somewhere inside the camera.
If the camera was on when it was dropped you probably jamed the lense coil. The lense coil is what helps the camera smoothly pull in the lense and back out. Now, just to specify, what exactly are you having a problem with? Will the actual lense not go back into the camera when you turn it off; or can you not get your camera off zoom?
Let me know~

you may be true that sand must be creating this problem, as this happens very often. the sand enters into the lense assembly, creating friction in the movement. if this has happened total dismantelling and cleaning of the lense assembly will solve the problem, but that has to be done by an expert at the repair shop.
when the camera is switched on it turns the lense out to a certain position and locks , but if due to any reason if the lense does not reaches to its proper position it retracts back and tries again 2 or 3 times, and then the movement haults and prompts 'Turn the power off and on again'. there is a friction in the movement of the lense. If you want to fix it yourself, then you have to open the lense assembly , dismantal it clen all the barrels and the groves, remove all the dirt and friction in the movement. refit the assembly and you will get the camera working .
i think you should take the battery out then hold the power button for ten seconds then put the fully charged battery back in if it doesnt work go back to the store and have them look it over.,
Verify you have the right kind of battery and fully charge it. The lense issue you describe commonly happens when the device cannot access enough power to function correctly, so it retracts and powers off to avoid getting your lense stuck in the 'out' position if the battery goes dry.
THE CAMERA ZOOMED OUT COMPLETELY AND WHEN I SWITCHED OFF IT REMAINS AS IT IS , AFTER PUTTING BATTERY & ROLL IT SHOWING ( f 1 ) & AFTER SOMTIME ( f 2 ) AND AGAIN IT WILL SHOWING ( f 1 ) ON INDICATOR.
