My iPod wont play my music anymore and it was working yesterday and this morning. And it freezes. It wont charge and it wont even turn on anymore.I tried to reset and turn it off and on before it stopped turning on but it didn't help. Can i get a new one?
How old is it? if it's under warranty apple may fix it. Simply, if you charge your iPod through you computer then the battery could be damaged. USB ports only put out 5 volts. If you have an AC charger that puts out 9.5 volts then consider charging it with that. Some AC adapters only put out 5 volts for the purpose matching the USB standard, but it's not good for the ipod.

How Do I Download Songs Onto My iPod Nano? IPod Nanos are portable multimedia players that allow you to playback songs and other content (e.g. video) no matter where you go. They come in a variety of memory sizes such as 4GB or 16GB (gigabytes) and work with iTunes to upload songs. ITunes is the iPod default management program which allows you to upload songs to its library, create playlists and sync music on your iPod quickly and easily. This simple process will have you jamming to your favorite songs in no time.
Downloading to an iPod Nano1Connect your iPod Nano to the computer using the USB cable. Launch iTunes if does not automatically launch. When you launch iTunes, it will display your iPod Nano on the left panel. 2Add music to your iTunes library. Click the "File" button on the top menu and click "Add to Library." Locate the song you want to upload to your player and click "Open" to load it to your program. 3Click the "+" button on the lower left panel to create a playlist. Type a name for the playlist and drag the uploaded file to it. To upload additional songs, repeat Step 2 and drag the uploaded additional songs to the created playlist. 4Drag the songs in the playlist up or down to select the order in which the songs will play. 5Sync your iPod Nano. Click the iPod icon on the left panel after importing songs and adding them to the created playlist. Click the "Music" tab and click "Sync music." Click "Select playlists, artists and genres" and select the playlist you created that contains the songs you want to upload. Click "Apply" to automatically sync and download the songs to your iPod Nano. 6Click the "Eject" button and disconnect your iPod from the computer.
Tips & Warnings Click "Music Store" if you want to purchase a music file. Search for the song on the iTunes store and download it to the iTunes library.
Try going in itunes, right clicking on the song, and click create AAC version. The song may be in the wrong format which is why it won't finish playing it. Hope this helps!
Is it set to be 'Manually Managed'? If so you have to drag the songs or playlists onto the iPod manually. Don't forget to click the eject button when you want to remove the iPod. You can also turn 'Manually Manage' off.
If that doesn't help try doing a reset.
Hold down the 'Menu' and the centre button for at least 10 seconds. You should see the Apple logo & the iPod starts up again. Still no good? Try a restore. Connect your iPod with the cable that came with it to the USB port on your computer. In iTunes, click and (Restore).
A couple of things for you to try.
1. Reset
Hold down the 'Menu' and the centre button for at least 10 seconds. You should see the Apple logo & the iPod starts up again 2. Restore
You need to do a 'Restore'. Connect your iPod with the cable that came with it to the USB port on your computer. In iTunes, click and (Restore). This will rebuild all the software on the iPod and restore your songs. Good luck.
press the menu and the centre button at the same time hold them both until the apple logo appears, the ipod should now reboot itself (you will not lose all your songs dont worry)
First make sure your hold switch isn't on. It's on the top or bottom and slides
back and forth. It needs to be switched to the left. Once it is to the
left, here's how you reset:
You can reset your ipod by holding down the menu and select (round
button in the center) buttons down for at least 10 seconds. You'll see
an apple logo flash, that's when you stop pressing the buttons. It will
shut off, then back on.
