Samsung SpinPoint V60 SV0813H 80 GB ATA-100 Hard Drive Logo
Anonymous Posted on Dec 06, 2010

Hi, I am trying to work out what kind of connector I need for my old HHD's (I have 2) I am thinking of buying an outside casing so that I can transfer my old data from these two drives to my current HDD, one is an SV0813H and the other is an SV8004H, I am sure it notes the connection type somewhere in the description but I cannot find it

You need an USB hard drive adapter case. Most likely these hard drives are IDE hard drives. You can leave them in the case and use it as an external USB hard drive for backups and file transfer.

Hi. Thanks for your question.
Your Hard drives connection type is IDE. You can but adapter for your hard drives to connect them via USB port to your current machine. This is link to one of adapters like this on ebay so you can have a look at what I mean http://cgi.ebay.com/USB-2-0-IDE-SATA-S-ATA-2-5-3-5-5-25-Adapter-Cable-/280501660830?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item414f33ac9e#ht_3091wt_1139
Buying adapter like this would mean that you could still use your drives and keep files on them. Use them as external drives. Only connect when you need them. I hope this helped you. Please do not hesitate to ask more questions if this is needed.

If the fan that is working is the outside fan on the power supply and if your case is well ventillated there wont be a problem. If not then buy a new power supply.

2006 H3 Hummer fan problem

Hi if your internal fan not work in any position well i fixed up myself easy and save your money.
locate the fan motor air just outside right courtesy drawn document in front of passenger. go from down and look up you will see a motor with a big connector white with 2 screw secure inside the motor block. loose the two screws and pull out gently the connector from motor fan block. you will see a green multiresistor connected with this big connector. Usually the first + voltage connector is burnet out. disconnect the connector pull from resistor and check for any burn. in my case the first pin was burned out completely
you can buy another connector or you can clean the burned connector take out form connector weld a small copper cable of 5 mm dia from resistor to the burn cable and reconnect the connector without buy a new one. after replace again the resistor in the hole of motor blow with the 2 screw.
Done all work again without buy another new connector.

It is a 2 lead wire (red/white and black) that connect right next to the memory slot. you have to connect the red/white wire to the 5v+ side of the 4 pin peripheral and the black lead to the com (black) on the same 4 pin peripheral. i can't really think of any way better to explain at the moment. but any questions. email @ [email protected]

HP Compaq dc5100 Small Form Factor Is two hhd

I think is not possible, because no space for additional harddisk, casing is too small, but if you release the cdrom, you can plug additional harddisk to cdrom place, but no screw mount to casing

backup all your files to some external hhd or to another computer.
use the Window Xp Cd to reformat eh hhd and reinstall Xp. if the format encounter hhd problem it will stop. in that case, you need to buy a new hhd and replace it. if not the format will go throught, do that twice and reinstall XP.

Duel boot system first xp then vista

Wow....

First I would check the BIOS settings. Make sure that the slave and master jumpers are correct on the drives.

Wouldn't it be easier to make one drive Windows XP on one drive while running Vista on the other?

It would make things easier to troubleshoot.

Toshiba Satellite A65-S126 Notebook will not boot

Locating the HHD in Toshiba will be the most difficult. They have put them in several different places in the machine over the years. First try any access panels on the machine (look for a small rectangle shaped panel aprox. 1x3, probably on the side), then check under the keyboard, on a couple of models they put them under the touch pad. It should be in a HHD caddy, that will slide out. The caddy will have at least one screw holding it and there will be two or four screws holding the HHD in the caddy. Also check to see if there is a connector on the end of the HHD, you'll need that. Once you've found it, put the new HHD back in the same as the old one and you there.

Wont boot into windows

Have you attempted to run in Safe mode?  Does it boot there.  If you boot to safemode and it locks on MUP.SYS most likely just the OS needs reinstalled.  Go in to CMOS (F10 on boot I think) and under tools there should be a hard drive test.

Hope this helps
