Get a better translator. Sounds life bad solder job on board. Check buttons wire connections and where they hook up. If it'd the display which I Dont think it is try checking those wires. Good luck.

If subwoofer is inactive now, the sound preference settings you set now is wrong.

Before using the remote control for the following
operation
* Set the remote control mode selector to AUDIO

** There are exceptions in the operation mentioned
above. In such a case, follow each instruction

Dolby Pro Logic II*1

# Dolby Pro Logic II has a newly developed multichannel playback

format to decode all 2 channel sources - stereo source and Dolby

Surround encoded source - into a 5.1 channel.

Dolby Pro Logic II has two modes - Movie mode and Music
mode

# Pro Logic II Movie (MOVIE)
Suitable for reproduction of Dolby Surround encoded sources

# Pro Logic II Music (MUSIC)
Suitable for reproduction of any 2 channel stereo music sources

# Dolby Digital*1

Used to reproduce multichannel soundtracks of the software

Samsung ht-c550 dolby pro logic II mode does not work.

1. Go to the DVD input.
2. Select menu
3. Settings
4. Audio
5. ASC
6. Turn OFF the Auto Sound Calibration
7. Exit the menu
8. Go to the DVD input and retry the pro logic II button and switch to MATRIX.

(Also you have to enable the "matrix" setting each time on all of the inputs you use.)

Just bought a Samsung ht-z320. I used the hdmi

How is the cable box audio connected to the Samsung? That is where the sound comes FROM. HDMI carries signal TO the TV.

The single optical digital input is a limitation if you get HDTV through cable. You probably use it for the DVD.

I found this quote from the manufacturer's propoganda, "deliver the greatest impact from all your digital media". Yeah, all ONE hardware source of it.

You could manually attach the optical output (if it exists) of the Cable Box to optical input on the Samsung for multichannel-audio TV viewing (listening). OR, you could run the RCA L&R analog audio outputs out of the Cable Box into one of the Aux Inputs, but no actual surround will be produced.

Make sure you are on the correct Input/Source, adjust volume acordingly.

Please give details about what sources and connections you are using.

Pro logic button on remote doesn't work for Samsung home cinema

Try turning off the ASC. This should restore the Pro-Logic II Mode functions as well as the DSP/EQ. Nearly tore my hair out until I stumbled on the solution at AVForums.com

Dolby output is Pro Logic II, even though source is Dolby Digital

I know nothing about tivo but dvd player might need to be on bitstream to pick it up.I have to change mine when listening to music. hope this might help.

I cannot get the functions on the remote to operate.ie pbass dsp/eq etc?

The P.BASS function is only available with 2 channel LPCM sources such as mp3,Divx,cd
and wma. Press P.BASS button and "POWER BASS ON" will be displayed on the screen.
The P.bass does not work with DSP/EQ or DOLBY PRO LOGIC ll modes.
If you press P.BASS in the DSP/EQ mode, the DSP/EQ mode is automatically shut off and the P. BASS function comes on.
The DSP/EQ function is only available in STEREO mode.
Press the PL ii mode button to show STEREO on the display.
This feature works with CDs, MP3-CDs, 2 channel DVD-Audio, DivX and Dolby Digital discs.
When playing a DVD disc encoded with two or more channels, multi-channel mode will be selected automatically and DSP/EQ function does not work.

I had the problem and after pressing the DVD Receiver\DVD button to no avail went back to setup and turned the ASC Setting to off. Apparently I had forgotten to turn it off after doing the Auto Calibration.

Not working for me I tried the solutions provided and even went back to settings but I can't locate the ASC only the EQ on/off option and AV-Sync. I don't know what to do now because I can't repeat a song or even switch mono/stereo (MO/ST). Am really annoyed, is there any combination of keys to press? When I tried dolby pro II while playing a CD it only brings me back to song number 1 and for MO/ST it only plays track 3...Help me guys! I even took my report to the shop I bought and while there it was functioning fully when tried on the other systems there.

Hey yesterday brought Samsung HT-550 home theater . my rear speaker voice is too low . i do settings & high the volume to +6 Db, but still same problem volume is too low .
what is best EQ ?
any suggestion ?
