I am being told by a board supplier that the DZ board is interchangable with the D Board... I am looking for verification and Sony has not responded to this question.
The part number that you reference is teh complete D board and is available from tritronicsinc.com for $313.49 with a DUD return of $115.00 This means that you return the bad baord and get a credit of $115 when the board is received back at tritronicsinc.
I can only verify the interchange if you supply the original model number of the set involved.

Seven
blinks - High voltage shutdown. The high voltage has exceeded 33k and the
unit goes immediately into safety shutdown. Check power supply regulation
and horizontal circuits.

Sony Trinitron Wega KV-34HS420 blinks 7 times it means the the Horizontal Deflection stopped.
There are two cause for this: B overcurrent is detected (IC5007 is defective) or there is a over heating is detected by the Thermistor (TH5002). Both of these parts are on the DZ Board. If you order the DZ Board from the "Partstore.com" it will cost you $395.95 minimum. The Thermistor TH5002 (part # 1-807-796-11) cost $4.95.
This IC chip IC5007 is no longer available at Partstore.com. You could purchase it from other stores. Not sure of price.
Replacing the whole DZ board would for sure fix this problem but at close to $400.00. Then what if another board or your picture tube goes out soon.
Better to go buy a new flat panel LCD from Costco for around the same price.
Hope this helps

The Power Supply/ Deflection Board is called the "D" Board. Replacing this Board should fix your problem. You can try to order one from Sony at 1800-222-SONY. If it is not available, you will need to send it to Sony for them to rebuild it. That will cost around $400.00 or so.
I hope this helps,

Seven blinks, pause, seven blinks, etc. means "Horizontal deflection stopped" and indicates a serious problem, probably on the D or DZ board (whichever is applicable).
If this is the case, the TV will have to be serviced by a professional.
how long have you had your tv, and what i had found out is that after replacing the power supply board my tv went out a second time but i had gotten a warranty and then another power supply board was replaced and it would not come on, for 2-3days, so everyday i would just keep on pluggin it up and one day it came back on and i havent turned the tv off yet, what i was told by the tv repair man was that i needed a picure tube, and he said sony knows these tv has alot of problems, i tried contacting sony but was given the run around, i just wont by sony products anymore as they dont stand behind there product
The power supply board is failing. There are twi integrated circuits in the horizontal drive circuitry that have to be replaced. The original integrated circuits are the same type and you will see written on each..."MCZ3001D" and need to be replaced with Sony # 670581001 or the "D" board with those parts on it needs to be replaced. The cost of the entire board is high-about $375.
