There is only one setting that you can change on SOME 4GB GoGear's, but not others - I'm going to need the exact model # of your GoGear, b/c Philips makes a lot of 4GB's, and they all work a little differently. Go into the settings menu, and see if it allows you to switch between MSC and MTP Mode - the newer GoGear's default to MTP mode, and will not allow you to switch at all.

If changing to MSC mode does not cause the PS3 to recognize it, then it just can't be recognized. Since Sony made the PS3, they kind of rigged it to where it will only read Sony Walkman Mp3 players (although it MIGHT have Apple iPod compatibility as well - but even that is iffy).

Sorry.

My philips gogear 4gb mp3 player is nt startin what 2 do??

I'd suggest that you format your player or repair it using Philips songbird or device manager. Contents may be removed by using this function. So make sure to back up your contents.

Format:
On your computer desktop, double-click "My computer". Double-click on the MP3 player's icon. Right-click on the Internal Storage icon and then select "Format".

Repair using Device manager:
Launch Device Manager and click the Tool menu and select "Repair", then follow the instructions to perform the repair process. Make sure all other applications such as Philips Plug-in, Windows Media Player or Windows Explorer that access the device are closed or else Device Manager will not recognize the device.

Hope this works.

How i can get video files to show on my 4gb philips go gear mp3

first off get the arcsoft media converter 3, then drag and drop the videos you want to get on your mp3 player into the program, after it converts it it loads them onto your mp3 player as long as its connected, this program will also allow you to download youtube videos and put them on your mp3 player too

Converting Files from CDs?

The bit rate and sampling rate that you set for the mp3 format was possibly wrong. Since the 4GB player obviously isn't an HDD6330, I can't tell you what those rates are, but they are on the spec sheet that came with the player in tiny writing (or in the back of the manual sometimes - 50/50 with Philips). Go back into the Rip options in Windows Media Player and set the bit rate to 128. Once ripped, select the Properties for one of the song and find out the sampling rate. If the sampling rate is wrong, you can use a free program called Media Monkey to convert them to the right rate.

Another possibility: the songs that you initially converted were in CDA format. When you went to resync the songs that had been changed to mp3 format, the Philips read them as "already on the player" and ignored the format changes. Delete all the songs off the Philips and resync the songs that are in mp3 format. Good luck!

My Philips 4gb GoGear mp3 will not show up on my Playstation 3

Run a 1 to 2 Y-adapter from headphone jack of GoGear to audio input of PS3 to get sound. To perform other functions, connect usb cable from GoGear to PS3

Everything else you need to know will be in the PS3 manual:

Philips mp3 player sa6045

This player shows the "Do not disconnect" message when it is doing something critical such as transferring tracks or updating firmware, which could corrupt the player if disconnected part way through.

The player shows the "OK to disconnect" when it is idle. As the message says, it's ok to disconnect, as the player will not corrupt if disconnected when it is idle.

These messages mean that the player does not need the "Safe to remove" procedure.

It is ok to disconnect part way through charging. Also the player will condition the battery once it is fully charged, so it's ok to leave it charging.

Occassionally batteries can "memorise" when constantly disconnect and reconnected without fully charging and discharging. To help prevent this, fully discharge the player (leave on until dead) and fully charge and condition (leave charging for about 12 hours) every couple of weeks or so.

Phillips GoGear 4Gb - Can't sync songs onto player...

This is only a makeshift solution.
I use a philips gogear sa52xx and found out, that deleting the drivers, then reconnecting the Player and pressing F5 in the explorer allows me to normally access the philips gogear sa52xx for about 30 seconds. After that, out of nowhere the drivers will sever and the Code 10 error appears. So, another disconnect - deinstall of the driver - reconnect - F5 in the explorer until the Player appears and then sync. The proplem is, that this works best (maybe only) with mp3 files...
So convert your music files into mp3 first, than do above steps for drag 'n' drop.
Usually, you need to do the whole procedure 2 times for a CD, sometimes 3.
