Uninstall from device manager(My computer-Right click properties-Device manager-Locate the drivers for sound etc)..Restart the computer..Should get re-installed automatically or you can download the drivers from the internet or you can re-install the deleted drivers from application recovery( Start-All programs-Application recovery-driver installation)..

Bad DirectSound driver. Please install proper drivers or select another device in configuration. Error code: 88780078 for IBM think pad

The same model ThinkPadcan have different types of network, video and audio drivers and unless youknow exactly which one is installed in your ThinkPad, you need to download allthe drivers and install each driver until you find the right driver. When you download thedrivers, write down the device driver and it's file name so you have a recordof which driver you are installing and which directory the unzipped files arelocated on your hard drive. Go to the IBM/Lenovo WEBsite - support/download page and download the latest Windows XP or Vista devicedrivers for your model computer, Use this link: - http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/product.do?template=%2Fproductselection%2Flandingpages%2FbrowseByProductLandingPage.vm&sitestyle=lenovo&brandind=10&validate=true You can download thevarious drivers and then you click on and run the various driver files, theywill then unzip and expand into a sub folder on C:\drivers Then install thevarious drivers from this folder (run the set-up file).

New video card old motherboard

The new video-card should have come with a CD-ROM, containing the necessary device-driver software to support the device.

Or, from the manufacturer's web-site:

http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx?p=xp/radeonx-xp

download the device-driver for Windows XP Home/Professional, and install it.

I need a sound device for my newly formated pc; Its Microsoft windows XP Professional & im from Philippines...

If you are planning to get a sound device hardware like a PCI card you can choose CMI8738 audio PCI Audio Device may suffice your needs.

If built in on your motherboard use your motherboard installer or manually go to sound device folder to install the driver.

If you don't have the motherboard installer, try its manufacturer's site then choose the exact model number and version, to get the right driver.

Re installed Windows XP Pro from virgin disc, now have no sound system.Motherboard has VGA sound lan onboard but think that drivers were lost on xp installation.Computer is SVA (Thailand) In device manager...

Windows has drivers BUT, in many cases they are not the ones designed for your Motherboard. If you have the CD for the Motherboard you can install the drivers from that. Otherwise, you'll need to get the NAME of EACH of the devices (ie. NVidia for Graphics, Hitachi for Disk, Ricoh for Ethernet, etc.) to be able to determine what drivers you need. In many cases, the Motherboard Drivers are to be Installed BEFORE you install Windows. May be possible to install after windows install tho. Need to get a device listing first.
GOTO Device Manager in Control Panel and broswe through the listings for each of your devices to get the maker names.

No sound after reinstall window xp

Determine what sound card you have installed and download and install the driver for it. Go to device manager and click on "Sound, video and game controllers" to see what's installed. It will also tell you if the device is not working properly.
