Product: Toshiba Laptop, Satellite 1800 (PS183C-00HV9P)\r\n1.1 GHz, 512mb, Windows XP Pro Problem: I recently reinstalled Windows XP Pro. I am having problems with display. Videos do not run smooth - its like frames coming up - even if I scroll down a page in explorer it's like frame by frame. I think I need a display driver. I installed display driver s18274vidx.exe from www.csd.toshiba.com. This might be the wrong driver though, I am not sure. Can anybody help me with this issue. Thankssss!!!!

The video driver is specific to the model laptop, there may be a few different video card used in the same model laptop, in this case you may need to install one at a time to find the correct driver.

My comp crushed the windows xp professional and on reinstalling the recovery version on the toshiba SATELLITE L3000 the sound device was not there.

YOu need to locate your devices TRUE model. Look on your product label on bottom of laptop. There are various models of the L3000 series. Once you have the proper model number (looks like L3000-502I etc) Go to Support.toshiba.com website. Go to DOWNLOADS tab, choose LAPTOP in first box, Choose SATELLITE on next one, and in third box scroll to your actual model number (the real one) and then download the SOUND drivers for your device. This should fix it. Also, you need to be sure and download teh proper version for Windows XP.. dont get the Windows 7 version. I would also make sure that XP is updated to the current SP3 version. To do this go to microsoft.com and run Microsoft Update.

Running XP on a satellite - cannot get desktop to

Reinstall your VGA driver from right clicking on computer>properties>device manager>display adapter>driver>uninstal. Keep ur XP CD in ur CD/DVD rom, windows will detect the hardware automatically and follow the instructions. If windows does not have a compatable driver, follow the link below for the official site of toshiba to download the driver for your laptop for free.
