Magnavox ZV420MW8 VHS/DVD/RECORDER

I purchased this unit from Walmart at Christmas but just got around to using it. This is my problem... After reading the book I felt technically challeged so I used the quick dubbing feature to record my VHS to a DVD-+RW disc. It only recorded 1/2 of the VHS before turning off and finalizing. After trying several attemps and failing I tried using the timer... to make a long story short my new DVD recorder just recorded 1/2 the VHs but then after turning off recorded the TV onto my $60.00 copies of some rare footage VHs movies. I'm so heart broken... what can I do for this not to happen again. I'm scared to use it now. I emailed the tech support on the manual but did get a return response.

How do I change VCR recording speed on the Magnavox ZV420MW8

If you have the manual it is on page 79 (Press Rec Mode There are two speeds SP SLP it will toggle between the two.)

I cannot record using a DVD/VHS player.

You can record. From antenna to converter box, from converter box to vcr. From vcr to TV.
TV on Channnel 3 VCR on channel 3, and set channel on converter box. Then Record.

Time recording works the same way, but you can set for only one channel at a time. Tht is the only restriction that I have not overcome. The converter box sets the channel. Gee Whizz
