I HAVE A HITACHI 53WX10B TV AND THE SCREEN IS BLURRED. I HAVE TRIED THE MAGIC FOCUS BUTTON AND THE SHARPNESS BUTTON. ANY OTHER IDEAS?

If your TV looks 3D, warped, or distorted it likely has a convergenge problem.
If however it just looks dull, washed out, redish, greenish, or blueish or if it looks like objects on the screen have halos the fluid in the lens has soured.

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

you need to change the convergence chips that are attached to a heat sink, they are the two black chips with a lot of legs on them.

Please! Stop using the magic focus now!
There are internal parts that have failed and this requires attention by qualified personnel.
The more you hit the magic focus, the more the proper calibration points will go off the mark, since the computer only knows that the calibration is incorrect, but is unaware that the parts that DO the calibrating are defective.
Sometimes this will make the repair more difficult, since a major maual recalibration may be necessary if the registers "rolled over".
If no one had touched the magic focus and just called for repair, the set would just need the parts. Once replaced, the set would look normal. Yours will require a few more steps.

I'm no expert, but I think that you have a problem with the convergence of the 3 color guns. I've been working on a similar problem. As a first step, have you tried "Magic Focus?" The Magic Focus button for the Hitachi 53UDX10B is at the left of the small front panel controls that also include your RCA composite and SVideo connectors. Let the set warm up for about 20 minutes (as recommended by the user guide), and then press the Magic Focus button. When you press the Magic focus button, the set will auto align the 3 color guns. If this doesn't fix your problem, unplug the TV for at least 4 hours and try again.

Replace Both of your STK ICs they are your convergence ics they are big black ICs will have Part# on them for example STK392-110, if they are 110s use 180s, if 020s use 040s other wise replace with exact same number. To get Parts call Electronix 1-800-223-3205

try the focus adjustment knob on the back of the flyback transformer....if that does not work...order a focus block
