Freezer is working fine. Refrigerator side is getting warm, shows 61 degrees. Have unplugged several times to reset, nothing has happened. This same problem happened last week, but it started working fine for 5 days, then back to it. Have not been able to re-set yet. Refrigerator side will not cool this time. Any advice?
Similar problem with RS2545SH: I left the freezer door ajar for 2 days while off on a trip. The freezer thawed a bit and the compressor ran for days. Lots of clicking from the compressor, so I unplugged the unit for a few days and allowed further thawing (plus cleanup). I plugged the unit back in, but still not freezing well. Bottom part of freezer does freeze, but top portion of freezer does not. Diagnostic mode reveals a *dash* on the freezer size. How do I further test or determine what needs replacement on the freezer side?
Diagnostic mode will say what any electronic issues are. Check to see if there is, if any, frost build up on the rear panel or ports. If the unit had made any noise in the refrigerator. This unit may have a switching valve for the twin cool, so it could be an issue there.

Pierce, there was a service bullitin put out on this model. TDR-0010A-B. Had to do with normal freezer, warm fresh food compartment. Maytag issued a kit that included a new thermostat and damper assy. to solve this problem. Bullitin came out in 2002. If you are not having a defrost issue and all fans are running normal, I would call Maytag and inquire about the above posted bullitin, It may be covered. Catriver...post back.

Ok, what I found out is that there are codes built into the front panel. If you hold the top left and right buttons for 5 seconds, the fridge will reset. If there are no issues, the panel goes blank. If there is a dash in the right side of the panel, there is an issue with the fridge side. In the left, freezer side. The dash indicates a defrost problem. Only a couple of things can cause this. 1. Sensor 2. Heater 3. Fan, 4. control board.

it sounds like the refrigerator evap is frozen up causing the compartment to get too hot. shut the unit off and let it thaw out. then take the screws out of the cover to check the stryrofoam on the back side of the cover to see if theres broken spots on it causing the air to bypass the evap causing it to freeze. Theres two screws behind the light cover and two at the very bottom of the cover and two behind the decorative plugs about 1/2 way

Have same problem with my basic whirlpool refridgerator 2 months old. Warranty guy came out. He said the vents between the freezer/fridge air are clogged with ice. this happens if the door is left open for awhile which allows water to condensate, then closed, water freezes.
Said to left fridge defrost completely for 24 hours to let ice melt thn plug back in. I'll update if this does not work.
