My watch stopped working. It's been in a jewelry box for a few months, no exposure to light. What do I do?

Eco-drive watch should work for 1 year out of light. Take it out of the drawer and place in light, and check that the pin on the side is pushed in all the way.

I have a women's Sapphire Crystal wristwatch that I stored for the past year in my jewelry box. Now it won't run. Any advice for how to charge the solar battery?

When I did a similar thing to a Citizen solar watch, Citizen suggested to place the watch, face up, in either bright daylight or under a flourescent lamp for a few hours.
That worked.

Watch does not work

you do need to change the battery. many Wal-Mart's will change it for you in the jewelry isle. some backs push on where as others twist off. but without the right tools you'll just scratch it or groove it, or ruin the possible water resistance of it, if the seal is cracked or broken then any water can get in. most batteries will be good for 1-3 years on average but it will depend on if it has a light and the temperature it was kept at.

I've had the Avalon EXC talking watch for just a little over a year. A month ago, the battery quit, so I went to a store that had a jewelry counter and they replaced the battery. After just a month, it...

Some of these talking watches have 2 batteries, one for the voice and one for the hands, the one for hands is underneath the talking part. A lot of people don't know this and, just change the top battery. All watch batteries are the same voltage but the better brands tend to last longer, a good Swiss battery is the way to go. The more you use the talking function the more power you, will use

Eco-drive watch stop working, after it was in jewelry box for over a year.

First, be sure that the stem is fully pressed in. Pulling out the stem to set the watch stops the action.
The Eco-Drive is still a battery watch. It just has a solar/light powered recharge system built in. The battery will run down after a year of no light. Place the Eco-Drive in bright sunlight for a couple of days in order to recharge the built-in battery. You may recharge the watch in fluorescent light as well, it just takes longer.

I would have the battery checked. That is probably what it is. Most jewelry stores/watchmakers have a battery tester to test to see if it has any power left. That would be your best first step.

New watch not working

I would go and get the battery replaced. Watches will run off the battery even when sitting on the shelf in the stores. Replacement are usually less than $10 at the mall or check a jewelry store.
