Scan function on HP6110 all-in-one printer won't work

All of a sudden the HP Director function on our HP Officejet 6110 printer stopped working. It still prints from the computer and makes copies, and the fax still works ok.
This happened when we downloaded Internet Explorer 7. We then uninstalled 7 and went back to Internet Explorer 6. The function still didn't work. We uninstalled the printer and re-installed it several times-- HP Director still doesn't work.
The Window on our computer screen says something about a "missing file" We have tried all the fixit solutions on the HP site to no avail.

Our operating system is WindowsXP home
Can someone help?

Hi,

The reason why the HP Director wont open because you upgraded your windows Internet Explorer to version 7. I want you to download this patch, install it. then try to open the hp director again.

Scan to emai on HP6110 all in one printer

give it up

just take a picture of the emails with your cell phone and then email the picture to yourself or whoever and know you have a copy but honestly why anyone would need to scan emails which are already digital and on computer makes no sense at all.

this is the same as deciding you need to drink some water so you take water and freeze it into cubes then pull them out and let them thaw so you can drink it

Keep getting scanning error message

How do you have the HP6110 connected to your system? This problem can sometimes be caused by using to long a cable between the computer and the multifunction printer. I would use a short cable (6 foot or less) to make sure that it's not a communications problem. This ususally manifests itself with an error message while scanning although the printing function work ok.

Scanning documents on hp6110 all in one printer.

1. open lid
2. place paper in lower left corner of scan window(make sure paper is on only the glass)
3. close lid
4. press scan
5. wait patiently
6. HP window should pop up and say that it is completed scanning and ask if you wait to scan again or if you are done.

Can't scan document

Did you open the HP solutions application first. OPen up the application and you will see a scan document option. You can do it from your computer, but that program has to be open..hope that helps

Scanner on HP6110

I also have this problem. Try going to
-Start
-Programs
-Accessories
-Scanner and Camera Wizard.

I can get my scanner to work through the wizard when it won't work by just pressing the scan button on the printer.
