Check for obstructions inside the printer and try cleaning the rollers as well, if paper continues to jam by trying to load different types of paper and by feeding single to multi sheet... You are having an issue on the Hardware already. Call Lexmark support for Warranty.

Hi,

Try disconnecting for a while and see if it resets.

  • Anonymous Jun 26, 2008

If this does not have any effect, check for any jams (pens loose items), and load 1 piece of paper to test.

If this still doesn't work, reload your printer driver (from the disk or online)

If all else fails - return under warranty before going further.

    Hope this helps you.

    1 other thing,

Check in your PC print queue - just to make sure it's not backed up!

Dell 966 aio printer....paper jam and I cannot release paper from roller. Is there a way to release roller?

Have you read the Manual on paper removal? It mentions a rear panel that can be removed. That might free up the rollers:
If the paper jam is near the paper input tray:
1. Remove the paper tray.
2. Pull firmly on the paper to remove it.
3. Replace the paper tray.
4. Press the Select button .
5. Resend your print job to print any missing pages.
If the paper jam is not visible:
1. Turn off the printer.
2. Lift the printer unit.
3. Firmly grasp the paper, and gently pull it from the printer.
4. Close the printer unit.
5. Turn on the printer, and print the document again.
If the jam is located in the duplex unit or near the rear access door:
1. If you have a duplex unit, remove it.
2. Open the rear access door.
3. Firmly grasp the paper, and gently pull it from the printer.
4. Close the rear access door.
5. Re-install the duplex unit.
6. Press the Select button to continue printing.
If the paper jam occurs near the ADF:
1. Lift the ADF cover located to the left of the ADF input tray.
2. Firmly grasp the paper, and then gently pull it from the printer.
3. Close the ADF cover.
4. Press the Select button .
5. Resend your print job to print any missing pages.

OKI C9600 paper jam problems: Paper jams continually, either on first attempt to printing or if it prints a page the 2nd page inevitably jams. Printer has only done 1500 pages since new ,and i have removed...

Wow! That's quite the printer you have there. The C9600 does have a feed roller in the front; and it's not uncommon for paper to still get stuck. Does your paper "fan" when it goes through; or simply, go through and jam? It's possible a paper feed sensor is bad too. Another thing you might want to check is the paper tray; and that the paper is set to the proper size.

Also be aware, the OKI 9600 had a recall a year or so ago for some potential "shock issues" I would advise you to check with OKI directly to determine if this printer is part of that issue too.

I have a canon IP2600 printer only 4 months old and not used too much. It just started to pull the paper to one side when I try to print then it says there is a paper jam. The paper has an indent/groove...

In many cases, forcing (pulling out) the jammed paper in the printer might caused severe damages on the gears or some parts on the mechanical stability.
Noise problem might occurred if some of the joints (parts) were dis-aligned. Dis-assemble carefully the printer, and look for that damage. Put some grease and assemble.

Continual paper jams in rear of printer

If the paper is jamming at the exit rollers, you will be need to clean the rubber on the rollers. It gets shiny and does not grip the paper to take it away.

HP 7680 paper jam

I spent 21/2 hours with the HP tech support - with their recomendation to upgrade my 14 month old computer to the bigger model because the screen reads "paper jam". I have had this printer replaced once already, 1 week after I received it for a defective doc feeder. I decided to take things into my own hands - First of all, no paper was ever located in the paper jam area. Several soft resets by shutting down for 20+ seconds, then pressing #6 at start up resulted in any improvement - the screen continued to read "paper Jam....." the HP tech was unable to offer any practical suggestions.

I turned the machine upside down after removing the document feeder and examined the rollers at the back of the rear tray where the paper jam was supposed to be. I noticed that there was some black residue on the gears and although the machine was off and unplugged - the rollers / gears would not roll freely and seemed to get stuck. I cleaned them thoroughly with an old but clean toothbrush and water. (don't grease the gears - I've heard it eats the plastic) - until the rollers would freely roll when I moved the gray rubber rollers.

Returned the machine to correct position - and turned it on - "paper jam" message returned but the machine was sounding different than it had - so I did another soft reset (unplug from wall and printer for 20 seconds, then holding #6 for a few seconds while plugging back in and now I can print. The printer went through its maintenance cycle and did a realignment. I can print and everything is working fine at this time.

I hope that this will help someone. I couldn't find any information on how to repair the printer and HP seems to be all about producing junk and convincing you to "upgrade" at a cost of $2-300. When this one does finally go - I won't be buying an HP!

The 7680 jams a lot and the document feeder has a lot to be desired. It has trouble feeding straight and if there is a jam anywhere in the machine - it is always difficult removing the paper without tearing it and creating more problems and waste of time.

Phaser 860 Printer posting a paper jam at start up.

Sounds like printhead needs replacement.
Moving these printers without cool down is known to destroy printheads and of course wax goes everywhere and then everything else fails.Think about replacement

Printer malfunction

The samsung printer have three paper jam sensors. First (paper jam 0) after the feed rollers. Second (paper jam 1) at the left of the feed rollers and third (paper jam 2) at the fuser unit where it is hot. You can see the actuator between the two white rollers. Paper jam 2 is mainly cause by the scrappers out of position on the side of the upper heat rollers. You will have to clean it and put it back into position.

Printer jam

There is an easy fix for Lexmark E232 paper jams at the beginning of the paper path. This fix only works when the problem is that the paper starts to feed, but does not quite make it out of the paper tray.

The problem is the pickup paper rollers. If you remove the paper tray and press down on the paper indicator (the red lever to the left of the paper tray) you can see the twin rollers attached to a spring loaded armature.

Chances are these rollers are worn and are very smooth to the touch. This slick smooth surface does not have enough friction to push the paper up to the next roller.

To fix this, remove both rollers, they slide off easily. Then simply turn both rollers inside out and replace them on the armature. Notice how much "stickier" they feel now? Chances are your paper jam problems are over, until the rollers wear out again.

At that point you will have to replace them.
