Satellite M35X-S114 (PSA72U3HC00U) I started having problems it look like overheated and shuts off sometimes will work for some hours sometimes just a few minutes I'm assuming depending on the programs that were running but now suddenly shut off completly and haven't been able to bring it up it seems like it turns on but nothing on the screen and it doesn't seem like the HD goes on either little fan noise and stops but it does not turn on at all I'm worry that may be the motherboard...please help not a tech but have no major experience mostly learn from internet never done or work on a laptop/notebook before so be easy on the comp lenguage and instructions Thanks much

Hi jcardoza1, we want to help you with your question, but we need more information from you. Can you please add details in the comment box?
    (1) Can you try holding the power button in for 30 seconds in case laptop has not shutdown completely.
    (2) Where you using the laptop on a flat surface or on your lap ? I know it used to be called a laptop but now they call them notebooks.
The reason is that when it is on your lap it does not get enough airflow to keep cool underneath the laptop.
You can get a usb powered fan that sits under the laptop to give it extra cooling. see link below for example.https://www.mwave.com.au/product/deepcoo...
    (3) how much Ram (Memory on Motherboard) does it have ?

SOURCE: my toshiba satellite a215-s7422 is

turn it off turn it over and clean the fan on the bottom. I use a Satellite a25. I have used air to blow out the cooling coils a nunber of times. Toshiba has picuten in the owners manual on how to remove the fan for cleaning. it picks up dust from the work area and does not blow it clear. this cause it to over heat most likely

SOURCE: How do I restore to factory setting Toshiba Satellite M35X S114

You need to have the restore disk that came with the machine or if you don't have it, then you will need to get a Windows XP cd and find the drivers for your hardware on Toshiba's Support website.

SOURCE: Loud Fan and Slight Overheating

most likely sounds like your hard drive. Mine did the same thing starting that loud whirring noise and overheating a lot. i took it into geek squad at best buy and it cost 199.99 for the diagnosis of the problem and the repair ( if you want just a diagnosis its 69.99) and then had to buy a hard drive ( i went for the 320 GB for 109.99) and they installed it for free same day in and out. took the whole process about 5 hours on a friday afternoon.
