Question about Acer Aspire 3623WXMi Notebook

Broken Screen I have an Acer Aspire 5570Z and the screen is cracked. I don't want to spend $600 on a new one from Acer so i was wondering what screens are compatable with the Acer aspire 5570Z so I could buy a parts laptop or the screen itself on ebay to save me a lot of money. I have an Acer Aspire 3620 with a cracked screen. Is there an inexpensive way to replace the screen?

    The screen of my Acer is expensive to repair. The manufacturer is charging $649.95. I didn't buy it that much.

I don't know what the other guy is talking about, I replace screens all the time.

If you remove the screen from the bezel, there will be a model # on the back of the screen. Do a google search or an ebay search with that model number and you will get a list of the screens and laptops those screens go into. Ebay is your best, cheapest bet because once you find the screen number, then someone on ebay will have that number cross referenced to different laptops. For instance, the screen on my Averatec is the same as many screens for HP and compaq.

    Yes, if you do it from the manufacturer but you can buy screens for $150 and it takes less than an hour to repair.

Well, glue won't work so you are looking at a new screen in the range of $75-100 plus installation. Is the notebook worth it or should you buy a new one?

Screen stays black when powered on
I replaced my screen on my 5570z, i purchased it off of ebay for 130.00 shipped, but make sure you check out there feedback, and make sure they have a ZERO dead pixel return policy. Some are sneaky and will not let you return it if you have less than 3 dead pixels.

I would recommend that you go on www.ebay.com and buy any fault laptop that takes a 14.1" screen ( assuming ur screen is that side) and either replacing it if u know how to or get a techincian to do it for you

Broken Screen
Hi,

Most screens can be bought online and not necessarily from Acer. You need to get the actual part number and it might surprise you that the screen was manufactured by a different company (mostly Taiwan). You can try here or ebay.

Screens would have series numbers like 5570-4765.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

you can try pulling the screen apart and re-seating the ribbon cable, but the lcd might be broken, or one of the controller lcd chips might either be cracked or broken. Trying to reseat the lcd ribbon cable might help, but if there is a visible crack in the screen- you will need a new screen.
