The error 4 in most Sony stereos is an error that comes up when the laser pickup doesn't read the disc correctly. This happens most of the time because of a dirty lens in the laser pickup. If anyone smokes in the vehicle the smoke may be on the lens causing the error code. Try a wet type CD cleaning disc to see if it helps.

Hi I have put a cd into the changer but now cannot eject the cd, the stereo reads error 99 please advise

The CD, when inserted, became either wedged or not seated properly and the sensors dont know how to respond. Here are the codes for Kenwood.
Changer Error Codes
• E-00: Poor Cable connection.
• E-01: Magazine not properly set in changer.
• E-02: No Disc in magazine.
• E-03: CD does not have selected track number.
• E-04: Disc is dirty, upside down or unreadable.
• E-10: No data is recorded on the MD. The player plays the next disc automatically.
• E-99: Changer malfunction, disc may be caught in machine or changer requires service.

If you have a steady hand... carfully unscrew and open up the unit just far enough so you can either pull, or nudge the CD tray enough for the CD to be seated in the tray properly...
Good luck...

WHEN I INSERTED THE CD IT SHOWS 'E-04'. HOW DO I RESTORE THE SYSTEM TO NORMAL? ..

E-04 errors are usually a 'no CD is loaded' problem. Your CD is too dirty or scratched to be read properly, or upside down. Clean/polish your CD, and reload properly.

04 Nissan Sentra I have been reading the problems with the cd players. Our cd player is doing something a little different. When you put in a cd you have to eject it over and over and put it back in,...

Try using a cleaner disc and follow the directions, and if that don't work try spraying some compressed air inside the slot, just sounds like has a dirty lens to me.

Error 04

Disconect the power then reconnect it it will reset the settings and eject the cd barring any kind of physical defect with the player (e.g. cd stuck) the easiest way is just to disconnect the negitive battery terminal
