I cannot open the CD/DVD door. My Inspiron 1720 wouldn't read the DVD nor can I eject it. I really just want to remove the DVD. I tried to play it on several other computers without success. This was the last computer I was trying.

Straighten out a paper clip. then push it gently into the small hole on the drive. This will eject your DVD.

On the door of the cd/dvd player is a very small hole. Straighten a paper clip and press in until you unlock the door.

Ejects cd from my dell inspiron 6400 and will not play or read

remove the CDROM (turn notebook around, remove the drive and reinsert after 1 minute.. perhaps it requires reseating.

if this fails, then accoding to Dell support Discs burned with this drive may not be compatible with some existing drives and players ; using DVD+R media provides maximum compatibility , if you have the 8x DVD/CD Burner (DVD+/-RW)

I have a Samsung DVD R160 recorder. A few days ago the recorder was not on and it was making a noise like it was trying to read a disk. This went on for quite a while. I then turned it on and it would...

Try this, look for a small hole on the front of the unit.Use a pin and press in to see if it opens, ejects the disk .If no hole try seeing if you can press ,lift, pull at the door/slot while pressing the open door/eject either on the unit or with the remote control. It sounds like you may have a bad CD/DVD (copy) that the unit is trying to read/load but can't. keep trying to eject CD/DVD if this doesn't work unplug unit for 5 minutes, try open door again do press and hold open repeatedly I know it's frustrating but it just may eject.Don't use this recorder for playback of DVD buy a $30 DVD player the cheaper the better they play anything.GOOD LUCK

Cd-rom/dvd-rom door won't open

Hi!This is not a big problem...All you have do is take a pin, needle or something and just insert it into the small hole near your cd-rom drive..try this repeatedly while pressing the eject button..If it doesn't work you will have to unscrew the two screws on the right of your keyboard..doing this will give you the access to the cd tray and you can remove the cd and put it back together..
