does the printhead assembly move at all? try taking off the ribbon and moving it by hand with the power disconnected. try moving it to the right hand side before turning it back on, if it does not go all the way back to the left again try to find what is jamming it.
In my own experience, Okidata printers have a nasty habit of collecting a lot of paper dust. To start out, I would suggest a really good cleaning, with no paper in the machine, with a can of compressed air. If that does not solve your problem, you might have to replace your feed wheel assembly. Hope this helps!
The only thing that coould cause it to malfunction like this is a defective main board. Replacing the machine would be recommended as the board is rather expensive.
As the alarm is on and steady then you most probably knocked the change lever into a position where it detects no paper loaded. The easiest way to check is to load your paper and move the change lever until the error lamp goes out!
Your printer has a damaged mainboard. Very sorry, for yours is a very good unit. the replacement model is the Oki ML-420, which comes with a 3-year warranty.
Are you using the parallel or serial port ? .And what driver are you using ? if correct driver is being used maybe delete and re-install the driver.
Hope this helps.
