I have gotten and hdtv from a friend and when I turn tv on it says I need a pin number to enter. I can not get a hold of them to get pin. Is there anyway I can override this in the settings program?

Do you have a pin number on your TV. Your remote should come with a number to match your TV. Once you have that number hold the power button for ten seconds. Then enter the number. Then hold the power button again

You have accidentally activated the system lock or parental lock. This usually happens when 2 buttons are pressed on the remote simultaneously.

You will need to enter a PIN number using the numerical keys on your remote. If you have set a PIN number for this TV you will need to enter this. If not, you will need to enter the manufacturer's default PIN number. This is usually a simple combination such as 000, 111, 222, 123, etc,

I can't tell you the exact PIN number without knowing the model number of the TV. Please try the simple number combinations shown above and post back with the model number if you need further assistance. The model number can usually be found on a sticker on the rear of the TV.

If you have not set your PIN-code when you first turned on the TV set, you need to do this before you can use the Child lock feature.
If you forget the PIN Code, unplug the AC power cord for 10 seconds to restore the PIN Code to 0000.
If you need to set your PIN Code for the first time, proceed as follows:

1. Press the ' MENU ' button on the remote control to access the main menu.
2. Press the cursor up/down to select FEATURES and press OK.
3. Press the cursor up/down to select Child Lock and press OK.
4. When the Enter PIN appears on the screen, enter '0000'.

Yuo can change the pin # even if you don't know the old one then you can can turn off with the new one.
Press the 'MENU' button on the remote control.
Press cursor down to select SETTINGS.
Press cursor right twice.
Press cursor down to select MENU PREFERENCES.
Press cursor right.
Press cursor down to select CHANGE PIN.
Press cursor right once.

Enter a new four digit PIN using number buttons. Number combinations from 0000 to 9999 are valid.
When prompted to confirm PIN, enter new PIN again.
Press the 'MENU' button to exit the menu.

2. Press and hold down select and the red button together until the red light at the top of your Sky remote control flashes twice.

3. Press tv again

Then enter the remote control code using the number keypad. The red light will flash twice if a valid code has been entered.

4. Point your Sky remote control at your TV and press the Power button. If this turns the off as you'd expect, then the tv should be set, press Select and the remote should work

You will need to enter the Service Menu and you can adjust this.

For the RCA D52W20 here is how you enter the service menu:

Turn the power off at the front panel, and then press and hold CH - and VOL - at the same time; after holding for about 8 seconds, the television will turn itself on in service menu mode.

Check the thermal sensor fuse part# 1-910-023-93 or possibly one of the four fans. If the unit goes into Fan/Thermal Protect shutdown (4 blinks) it can be difficult to determine the cause since the unit turns off too quickly to troubleshoot. Solution: Ground the data line by inserting a jumper between pins 3 and 6 of CN44 on the H4 board. This overrides the protection circuits for troubleshooting. Do this right after turning the unit on and as soon as the lamp is seen lighting. Check pins 2, 5, 8, and 11 of CN6000 on the G2 board for less than 1VDC. Any voltage higher than that indicates a faulty fan. If all voltages are within specs, the H4 board must be replaced. If a fan is found defective, the optical block will need to be replaced if it is located inside the assembly.
