I have heard of this problem a lot and most people say its the remote that makes this happen. I recommend talking to the logitech tech support or buying a new remote off craigslist or ebay or someplace like that if you are willing to pay some money for one. That's all i can think of so i hope that helps.

hi swimmer33,
i found a remote from a friend he let me borrow it to try but it didnt fix it but i realized the problem was from the port for the speaker. i can hear a sound but very low, that even on its own and the bass vol is at it's lowest the sound is covered by bass, to hear it i would have to blast full vol. i check the fuse in the back but that was still working. i guess i have to call Logitech thanks.for the reply.

I have the same problem except mine is in the right speaker. I once had a quadraphonic QA-800 amplifier with an identical problem. I pulled it apart and checked the main power transistor for the affected channel (the one in the heat sink) and found it to be dead. It was a common transistor and RadioShack carried them. I used hemostats for a heatsink to unsolder the pins of the burned-out transistor and used them again to solder in the new one. That was around 30 years ago and it's still working. On these big power transistors, one may be able to tell by comparing to ensure that both are equally warm to the touch. A relatively cold transistor suggests that it is fried.

I have a friend that has the same speaker and i borrowed his remote but it makes no difference i realized that the port for the speaker is faulty. Coz i it gives sound just really low that i have to blast it to full vol to hear it. i checked the fuse but that was fine. Yea i guess i will call logitech.
