I have a 1990 pontiac bonneville LE. I was driving down road and the car went dead. The car fires, has gas and just put new ignition module and plugs/wires on it. I don't hear the fuel pump coming on. I had this problem last week and put a new pump on it. The car drove fine up until today. I checked the fuses under the inside dash right corner. There are three fuses and three relays. The 30watt fuse blows everytime I turn the switch to crank the car. I unplugged the connector/power wire under the car that runs to the gas tank and tried a new 30 watt fuse. The fuse blew also. What is the problem. Would a bad relay cause the fuse to blow or is it another problem. I removed the three relays and turn the engine over. The fuse did not blow. Then I put three new relays in and turned the engine and the fuse blew again.

Try an ignition coil, they can work ok till they get hot, then nothing. Also check to see if the theft light is on when it won't start. I know this May sound strange, but does it have tilt wheel and do you use it?
I encountered a similar problem on a chev 4cyl with a coil pack ignition ( no distributor). It would run for a while and suddenly die out and wouldn't restart until a 10 to 20 min. cooling period. It turned out to be a crankshaft position sensor going bad. On this engine it was located in the engine block under the ignition module on the firewall side.
Your car probably has an aftermarker remote car starter module installed that you reset, by changing the battery. It has nothing to do with your actual car starter. You will need to shut down(valet) or uninstall that aftermarket remote car starter module to get it to stop trying to start your car with no keys in the ignition.
You have a list of things to look for. If the battery is new, it should turn over the engine, if it is dead, why did it die? Is the alternator charging? Is the battery any good? Did you check the electrolytes? Just because it is new doesn't mean it is good. Then check the terminals, are they clean? A car will not on a dead battery, it will not with battery power only for very long. When you get done with the electrical stuff, move on to the fuel stuff. Is it fuel injected or throttle body? Either way, I would try some fuel additive to clean it up in there. If you get it running. Some of your sensors could be bad. Sometimes the carbon builds up in there and throws the car into a fit, it won't run good at all. Are the dash board lights going crazy? A sign of the alternator going bad.
Ok since you did all that if you want to swap around fuel injectors taking note where you put cylinder 1 injector. Lets say you swapped it with cylinder 4 . Now if you get a different code say P0304 which is for cylinder 4 misfire then you know it is your injector at fault. These are wear items and should be replaced every 100,000 miles.
Also i would suggest if you dont want to do that is get some good high octane gas when you are completely empty and fill to 1/4 tank now put in Lucas Oil fuel injector cleaner and run the car till empty. Now fill up tank with high octane gas in see if this helps. Clear code after your second tank of gas and see if the code comes back. if code does pop back up then i would do the swapping of injectors as i stated earlier. I hope this helps and good luck with the diagnosis.
